Well that was a whacky, crazy transfer window with £850m spent in the Premier League which broke records. You knew it was going to be a big spending window when Leeds got involved with 4 players coming in. Everyone at the bottom brought in new players except Everton. Can imagine plenty of sackings if relegation grips teams like Southampton who brought in 7 players. Forest went big again, Wolves spent big and even Bournemouth went big and brought in big players. Top of the table was ridiculous as Chelsea spent massive with not enough of their existing squad leaving, so some of the new players won’t be registered. The new owner of Chelsea has spent £400m on new players and even failed to get paperwork for Zyech completed on time so his deal fell through and he stays at the club. The usual clown show at Spurs as they spent all month trying to get Pedro Porro over the line and failed to recognise that Matt Docherty loan deal to Athletico couldn’t happen because they had exceeded their loan numbers. So they cancelled his contract and he moved on a free. Quids in for him but bad business for Spurs. Paratici is Spurs DoF but looks like the ban in Italy has been done over here too because he would have been in charge of all deals. If he has been banned here for 2.5 years well that should see Conte leave in the summer. Come on everyone, how many of you thought Enzo Martinez was worth £121m. Well Chelsea spent the whole month trying to sign him and did it at the death, but what midfielder is worth £121m. Bet he struggles with Potterball and ends up injured by Dan Burn or some other big lump. Chelsea seem to have gone headbanging bad at football club ownership. Out of the Russian frying pan and into an idiot fire. £400m spent which is a great way to run a business and remember they still own Lukaku and pay most of his wages yet he won’t play for them FFS no wonder everyone wants to play over here. Biggest winners on the night were River Plate who recieve £32m from Benfica as 25% + bonuses sell-on fee. They sold Martinez for peanuts and then get record fee for doing nothing, crazy crazy football world.
Expecting to see our 3 first team signings on the pitch at Forest and we may need to score goals against Kaylor Navas Forrest’s new keeper the PSG legend who’s on loan. Time now for Leeds to use the talent they have in the squad and start to win games. Of the 4 players we brought in McKennie is the choice as he should be the missing link in midfield. A top top player from a top top club. A Champions League player who was never happy under the present Juventus manager as he was “on a piece of string” not able to do his thing because of the way they set up. In McKennies own words he says in Germany he played RB, CB, AM, DM, LW, RW and even CF. In other words we have bought a modern day Stuart Dallas with a speciality for tough tackling and box to box work rate. He also has a good mate in Tyler Adams who is the other half of the USA midfield combo. Our play should be now unrecognisable in the middle. It should also mean the end for Forshaw and maybe even Greenwood. It should also push Aaronson into getting his head right. We have an expensive array of American talent in the middle of the park now in fact £80m worth. Wober is doing good things at the back and will be interesting to see where we play him but our new French wonderkid Georginio should be able to showcase his potential over the coming weeks and it will be interesting to see how fast our new Portuguese CB makes it into the first team.
Jack Harrison’s future is up in the air as his price will drop dramatically in the summer unless he signs a new deal. Charlie Cresswell was wanted by Stoke and a few more Championship clubs so will he be sold outright and Hjelde what is the future for him. Lets hope Joffy shows the wearside fans his quality and gives Jesse food for thought next season. Cody Drameh seems to already have won the Luton fans over with rave reviews on his first start for the club. It was reported as the best ever debut for a new player.
How about this for a fact. Everton put bids in for 14 players on the last day of the window. All refused to talk to them
