Marsch has managed 32 league games and won 8 of them and 4 of those were last season when he managed for 12 games. 20 so far this season and again only 4 games won. These are facts and I cannot think of any manager who would still be in a job only winning 8 games from 32. Its only a 25% win ratio, nobody survives that
I’ve been banging on about his win ratio for weeks mate, Thomas Christian got sacked with a 45% win ratio. Lampard 27.3% with Everton
We'll get something mid week at scum. It's not beyond us. At some point we'll smash someone. We can't keep missing chances like at Villa and Forest. We just can't, it's impossible. It will click eventually. Just hope it's not first game in the Championship.
I used to say it when Bielsa"s sides went on a winless run at the same time every year. Just keep creating chances and the goals will come... and ultimately they did and we'd go again. Today was tough to take, especially after good performances at Villa and at home to Brentford without reward. I questioned my own sanity and understanding of the game after full time today because as everyone says, our record this season is abysmal. Managers are sacked for this type of record and rightly so. I couldn't argue if Marsch is sacked as ultimately his record is poor. Deep down though, these runs usually come to an end with a bit of luck, a scruffy goal, a timely red card or something. We are good enough to get the points needed, more than good enough but **** me it's hard work at the moment.
Chris Armis is a very strange appointment. The board obviously approved him but for whatever reason it took an age to agree from Jacko leaving to getting him in? Lets be honest here would you have dropped everything in America, jumped on a plane for one game, because if Marsch is sacked as seems possible……….. Surely Armis isn’t lined up to take over because his record makes Marsch look like a tactical genius. He took over from Marsch at NYRB and went from champions to pants and was sacked. He then went to Montreal with a top squad and got sacked for being shyt. He then went as No2 to Ragnik at scum and we know what happened.
Yup, Jesse’s record gets most managers the sack. It depends on the expectations of the team but a point a game is generally the mark. The difference this season and last? 20 goals in February and a team that was getting outplayed, thrashed and the body language looked completely beaten. Now we had injuries etc, last year, but the one thing that has saved marsch (so far) is that for all the stuff about narrow formations, too compressed and frantic, etc…the team isn’t getting outplayed. Take our chances yesterday and everyone’s talking about a consummate away performance where the opposition didn’t create a chance (yeh I know, they might have attacked more if they were losing ) Football’s not always a fair game. problem is decent sides do get relegated. Fulham 2 years ago played decent football most of the year, missed chances, conceded soft goals got relegated by 10 points. 2 years later, mitrovic finds his scoring boots and sides are missing the same chances against them. A bit better yeh, but getting the breaks? definitely.
you post on here fella, you’re right to question your own sanity good news is it’s a sign of intelligence to question your understanding of something. I don’t need to obviously because I’m always right
