Amazing that just before an EU-Ukraine summit meeting air raid sirens have gone off in Kiev, such perfect timing, and most people in the West will lap this up.

The Russians have killed or badly injured over 20,000 Ukrainian civilians including children. They do this by missile strikes so it's hardly surprising that air raid sirens go off.

Are you aware of any Russian civilians being injured or killed, and if so, how many?

About the same as Pakistan and India's dispute over Kashmir. It's so little reported by MSM that I find it hard to be anything but a neutral observer. How about you, Stainsey?

They always go off immediately before meetings of this type Goldie, as they do at exactly the same time that any important dignitary from the West visits the Ukraine.

I have heard people saying that the ukraine has a sovereign right to form or join any alliance (military or otherwise) - that is their right as a sovereign land. Ok. but by the same token a country like Iran can do the same (and also possess nuclear capabilities) - yet apparently top officials in the USA have refused to rule out the possibility of military action against the country. Supposing that the USA invaded Iran then would we have a situation where we all boycott all American products, freeze their assets, ban individual Americans from all public performances, take books written by Americans off the bookshelves, and lastly plough billions into Iran to defend itself against the aggressor and send them the weapons to do so ? Would we have the prime minister of Iran appearing on video screens throughout the West at all important conferences asking for more ? The answer to all that is no -which you know very well. I am not against having a moral code or an international law - but it has to be applied in all cases. Our moral outrage against Russia for its actions is a very one sided one - ie. one rule for them and another for us.

Iran has threatened to bomb Israeli off the map. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard spreads terror around the world (like the FSB) and will soon be designated a terrorist organisation in the UK and EU, as it currently is in the US. There seems to an emerging Axis of Evil involving Russia, Iran and North Korea. It is supported by little of the rest of the world.

''Little of the rest of the World'' - interesting ? Do you include China under that description ? Because China has a special trade relationship with Iran involving oil - which China very much needs. As far as the USA is concerned China is the real rival Worldwide.

Iraq didn't have nuclear weapons, even though it claimed to. There's substantial, independent evidence that Iran now has four bombs.

China is sitting on the fence re Russia. Support for Putin by Xi is luke warm. Yes, I can believe China buys Iranian oil, just as India buys Russian oil. It's economically expedient.

I say worldwide, because the UN resolution condemning Russia's actions was passed with an overwhelming vote of 143 in favour, 5 against and 35 abstaining. China was an abstainer.

There is a difference between condemning Russia's actions and supporting boycotts against them and further sending weapons there. You will find that rather a long list of countries have sat on the fence on this including: China, India, Turkey, Hungary, South Africa, Brazil, Israel and several others - ie. most of Africa and South America. With the exception of Israel the countries most in favour of anti Russian action have been those countries most tied to the USA.

The claim was that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction which could be used within 30 minutes - this was claimed by Blair, and was later proven to be a lie - just as were claims that Iraq backed terrorism. I would also like to know where your ''substantial independent evidence'' comes from. Also, whilst I don't believe those claims about the existence of Iranian bombs, being surrounded by American forces on all sides and knowing that Israel has them would be sufficient justification for them to take such a step.

I think the West and the EU’s pandering to Aliyev all in the name of cheap gas is disgusting. I also think it says lots about the current hero of the moment , Zelensky, that he took time out to wish someone like Aliyev “happy Birthday”
There are appalling massacres, torture and beheadings of men, women and children in the disputed area of a Nagorno-Karabakh while the west looks on and let’s it happens…while I take the point the Armenians may not be entirely innocent of atrocities and do not like to apportion complete innocence on any side, however they seem pretty hard done by.
The Popular Front podcast is a good reference in this conflict if you want more knowledge.

It appears to be a combination of the conclusions reached by the UN inspectors (now banned from Iran) and Mossad investigations
