Just read a poster on another forum say... "If we get this guy I’d punch myself in the dick. I’m that sure it won’t happen." ...when you know, you know.

It is worth pointing out that he has been touted at €30m/£30m (yes, the symbol changes depending on the source) since last month, so a €25m buy and loan back fits that perfectly
I live in Birmingham and have some Birmingham FC supporter mates who have watched him in youth games and they are saying he's better at 17 than his brother Jude was at 17. They think he's unreal.
Ally Gold says we’re hoping to sign Jude Soonsup-Bell from Chelsea to join the academy with a view to loaning him out in the summer. Some Spanish rando claims Gil’s desperate to leave and doesn’t care where too.
I'm waiting for the backpeddling from people who believed that Sporting weren't the ones dragging out negotiations until the Taca de Liga final...
You’ll be waiting for as long as those who thought Sporting would accept a derisory offer plus a **** player then.
Apart from the minor detail that the combined total adds up to what we're paying Besides, Sporting are currently being linked with all manner of broken down Premier League RWBs, so Emerson would be an improvement as he has two working knees - unlike Bellarin or Lamptey
Except it doesn’t because Sporting evidently didn’t see Emerson as being worth the €20m that would’ve taken the total value to €45m. No one would value Emerson at that, more so when he’d be the completely wrong player to replace Porro with too. That’d be like us asking for £100m for Kane in the summer and Bayern thinking we’d accept £50m and Choupo-Moting.
Given we paid £26m for Emerson last summer, it's certainly reasonable to suggest his value is around £16-18m - which is still selling him at a loss, which the club were reportedly willing to do a couple of weeks ago If there's a RWB we can't suggest is worth £20m at the moment it's Spence, which is what we paid for him six months ago and at this point his value is probably less than half of that
Emerson joined in the summer transfer window of 2021 not 2022 Spence was £12.5million with possible add ons taking it to £20mill. I’m pretty sure none of those add ons have been reached yet. Also I’m pretty sure most clubs would pay more for Spence than Emerson as he’s a better RWB, English and younger.
It’s not reasonable because we severely overpaid for Emerson and he also isn’t a RWB. To Sporting he’d essentially be of negative value as it would make absolutely no sense to accept a lower fee and a player they’d get no use out of for their star RWB.
Plus they would be lumbered with paying the wage of a player they have no use for Some people just don't understand that the value of a player can only be assessed by the purchasing/receiving club.
That's why the stories that United will get to dump their dross like Anthony and slab head on us in exchange for kane are utter bollocks
It’s probably a more mutual assessment from both clubs as the selling club will have to decide if they accept a particular offer but I get what you mean. Emerson to a team like Sporting would literally be of negative value, but to a defensive team in need of a right back then we’d probably get circa £15m if lucky.
