^^ This, with the exception of the absurd belief that the Hull job is bigger and better than the Northern Ireland one.
posted on another thread i would love gareth southgate to get the job, if there is a job available. he would carry on the good work and carry on unlocking the potential at the KC.
Southgate & Barmby as no2....Right thats settled then..Nigel,get the rest of yer **** outta our stadiums office and **** off!!...see u Dec 3rd!
With regards to Robinson, has anyone noticed who his assistant is? John Gorman. If we go after Robinson we need to make sure Gorman comes too. Wouldn't want to make the same mistake as with Phil Parkinson where we only got half the team.
For me, we should be looking at Di Mattio and Joyce. Failing that Dave Jones, Davies and O'Driscoll. The return of Steve McLaren would be romantic, however I doubt it'd end well.
Southgate has done nothing positive in management at all. No thanks! Paul Sturrock would be worth a punt
Di Matteo is assistant at Chelsea. I know most coaches would prefer to be a manager at any club to an assistant somewhere cushy, but can you imagine him walking away after a few months there to manage us?
It's very optimistic, but it's worth a try. I'm pretty sure Di Matteo would love to get back into full time management if he got the right offer.
Not a bad suggestion. Bar Middlesbrough, Strachan has done a decent job at every club he's managed, and will also hopefully have some decent contacts because of his reputation within the game.
Do you have any stats to back that up? I've always been of the opinion he's been one of the luckiest managers in the game, but I'm not sure why.
He sacked him as Derby were on for the lowest ever points total in the PL, thanks largely to Davies having chosen to spend the summer transfer budget in the January before when there was no need to spend, leaving him next to **** all to buy PL quality players with. £1M for ***an ffs.
Theo's list of 5 managers is a good one! I'll throw in a name not mentioned yet...Glenn Hoddle. I've always been amazed he hasn't managed to get back into management after being pretty successful with clubs and country.
I saw a documentary about an academy for rejected players he runs in Spain. Takes 17-20 year old players who are without a club, trains them up, and then sets up trials with league clubs. Seems to be quite a passion of his.
