About the most positive thing I can say about Gordon right now is I'm glad we signed him rather than Calvett-Lewen
He's been playing in a poor side, but from last season I thought that this kid - he's just 21 - has got the makings of a potentially very good player. He's fast as f*CK, tackles, presses, can cross, can shoot, can run with the ball. Not sure what's been happening this season with his form, but if Eddie Howe can't polish this kid I'll be surprised. Defo a big update on Murphy, Fraser, Lewis and for fitness, on ASM. YouTube videos are no real measurement of quality, but can offer a window of potential. And we want potential who are already better than our 2nd string.
Good pace and skills and decent free kicks, but dives like a right cheat and has a miserable scouse chav **** face.
This is why you don't like him .. it's an emotional decision.. the I don't like the look of him barrier . The diving bit is something they all do but when people don't like you they notice it more . I bet half the people on here look like a combination of Harrold Bishop and the elephant man.
We did need to get cover/competition for Miggy so pleased about that. I do think he's got the raw materials that Howe can work with also and tbh if you were at Everton right now and the greatest club in the world comes in for you I'd down tools tools too!
Is he better than Murphy, Fraser and Miggy? Yes. This is a good signing. Miggy is looking like he is tending back towards the mean, with respect to his performances, so this is a much needed signing.
Lol, your psychoanalysis is somewhat premature; the reason I don't like him is cos he seemed dirty and cheating at SJP, the reason I'm sceptical about him is cos he's never really stood out to me as a hot prospect we need to snap up.
Have you never seen a Newcastle player dive.... did you laugh at Murphy the other day. The entire North east had been reading articles lording Newcastle for their #nasty side all month . It's football.
A couple of weeks ago, when EH was talking about letting Wood go, he did say that he may not be replaced by exactly the same type of player. I conclude that Gordon was the one being targeted back then. So he's the choice of our manager. He's a planned acquisition, rather than (as Wood was) a panic buy. I've got hope that we've done the right thing.
Is he cup tied for Tues? He was on the bench for a Everton’s first efl cup game but never came on and he wasn’t in the squad for their last game…not sure what the rules are.
Wood wasn't a panic buy, he was an exceptionally well thought out buy; regardless of how well he did with us, his signing effectively relegated Burnley and kept us up, so he was basically worth every penny of his fee before he even played.
