I've always said I'm excited to see what Howe could do with him, I just think we've done so well with our money so far but I don't think Gordon will reach anywhere near the heights of Bruno and Botman who both cost less and the money could be spent on better.

If I'm proven wrong I'll hold my hands up and I'll be delighted to do so I just have a bad feeling about this one.

Chris Wood - 8 goals in the last 50 appearances
Antony Gordon - 7 goals in the last 58 appearances

This "dud" is outscoring "one of England's hottest prospects"

Really not much wow.
Wood is an out and out striker. Gordon is a winger who has been playing in a piss poor side.

After a year of absolute greatness with our owners have we not learned they actually know what they are doing.

Come on guys: we have s reputation for being deluded.

I don't see this as a particularly bad signing. He could be a decent squad player, even if he has still to prove he can fulfill his potential. The bit I can't understand is people trying to put him forward as one of England's hottest prospects and finest players when he has done nothing to show that yet. We aren't in a position to attract those players yet - the Saka's, Bellinghams, etc - but we will be one day. No need to big up what we are doing. It's a journey and Anthony Gordon is definitely an early stop on that journey and nowhere near the final destination.

This is where I'm at. Really, really hoping to be proven wrong, in a good way.

Well I have to say I was told my negativity was for years so this is kind of frustrating tbh <laugh>

Btw if you're talking about taking screenshots, remember the one you took of when you bet with me that we wouldn't finish in the top 7, cos that ones starting to come back to haunt you...

He looked like a weak link in a piss poor side when we played them.

He's 21 played for England u21s he's he's winger and has full Premier league experience and has just sold for 45 million.

Like I said thst should be enough to tell the guy in the street .

I'll repeat that I'd he'd signed from Brazil and people had never seen him play they'd be lapping it up.
This to be honest.

If it makes people feel better let’s call him Gordinho!

I think Gordon will be an inspired signing, much to many peoples surprise, especially mine.

I actually think it helps him coming in with opinions so low.

Also one eye on the future and best of all means Murphy isn’t playing much.

I can.

Reckon it will be Gordon on left. MIggy on right and Isak in middle

For me ASM has to start LW especially if he has Joelinton dropping back into LCM to do the dirty work for him, so much attacking threat and draws defenders in creating space for others. Gordon is good cover for both flanks though but I'd be disappointed if he took Maxi's spot in the starting XI as it's like comparing apples with a pebble.

I think miggy was looking tired ... howrs now got the ability to make subs and rotate..

There's literally only rb he can't do that now...

This! I think Gordon will have to be patient and wait for his chance but will be good to replace Miggy after 60/70 with fresh legs who'll do a similar amount of work both forwards and backwards.

Neil Warnock hasn't got any eyebrows. Although there should be more reason than that not to trust him.

Miggy will probably be the one to drop out of the team in time, i know he has done well but he isn't a champions league level player.
