Just read this in the Sentinel;
"Supporters will always have the RIGHT ANSWERS after the game and I have to accept that" he continued. "The people who moan after this match weren't moaning at Wembley, but I have to accept that........
Now for me that is a swipe at the potential fan backlash, although I do acknowledge that statements can be taken out of context in print form.
I think pretty much all of the Stoke fans (positive & negative) have known the RIGHT ANSWERS for a long time. To compare glory hunter wembley fans (I dont mean all, but there were alot of fans there that day that were not season ticket holders) with the hardcore never say die away supporters is petty and childish!
Why does he feel the need to take a swipe at fans, does he not realise that the home atmosphere was very hit and miss in our bad spell last term and also so far this year? Does he not realise that the hard working fans are a very important revenue stream? Does he not realise that we live in a democratic society which values free speech and opinion - we are no longer uneducated pit workers and potters who have no valued contribution to make? Does he not realise, that now of all times is to galvanise the supporters together and not potential alienate them?
Pride before a fall Tony?
