oh i will take it if it comes along, i just feel that the club at this time might not be ready to 'throw everything' towards that...i mean for 100M+ parachutes the end result would be very welcome, even staying up with the extra revenue. guess the fulham game could give us a wee insight into how these lads would handle it.
GOM never dresses things up or allows his own wishes to cloud the facts. I've no idea how he remains so patient with people who keep repeating the same nonsense or even argue with him when they're blatantly clueless. I've asked him if he'll post on here, he won't but says he's happy for me to quote him any time.
Disagree mate. If we go up as we are,and we don't disrupt the squad as you suggest, we will get murdered. We would have to do a Forest to gut our squad, sign a dozen players for massive fees, just to stand a chance of staying up,and we would be back where we were under Ellis Short. No,patience, marra, patience. We've spent 5 years in the wilderness.....it'll take that to get back to where we feel we belong. We're on the right road,I don't want to go back to those days where every home match we were sitting deep hoping to get a point without being taken apart.....can't go back to those days again.I'd rather stay where we are.
I would suggest that we are way ahead of where KLD and his management team probably expected us to be , however I think that if we were to end up in the Premier league with the riches it provides would be gladly received . This of course would mean quite a readjustment by the management team but they have proved themselves very competent in most aspects and would be up to the challenge . We have shown that we can compete with established Championship sides and are just outside of the playoff places but who knows if we can pull off a remarkable achievement , I know one thing an unlikely promotion would be too good an opportunity to turn down !!!
https://www.footmercato.net/a5747949113152164266-west-ham-pierre-ekwah-va-signer-a-sunderland translation Passed by Clairefontaine and FC Nantes, Pierre Ekwah had been transferred very young to Chelsea despite his desire to stay in France. After signing at West Ham in 2021, this very versatile international U20 tricolor, much appreciated by Bernard Diomède in selection, will leave the London club in the coming hours to commit definitively to Sunderland. Pillar of the Hammers U21 team, Ekwah is able to play in midfield as a torchbearer and shift into the left lane. The one who played two matches with the Bleuets against Portugal last March, will sign a long-term contract with the Black Cats, current 9th in the Championship. The native of Massy was convinced by the project of the club of Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, the son of the former emblematic president of OM, Robert Louis-Dreyfus.
Hopefully that’s what the hold up was, we went back and made a permanent offer instead of a loan, fingers crossed anyway
I probably didn't explain myself too well. What I'm saying is that we may go up 'by accident' in the same way Boro or Blackburn might. If that happened I'd hate us to do a Forest and end up with players like Chris Wood. I'd prefer us to make a few sensible additions, keep the squad together and treat the season as another learning process. If we stay up we can make more improvements but, if we go down, we'd be richer for it in many ways. Of course we may lose a few players, who've impressed in the PL, but I'd expect our recruitment to be ahead of that.
Aye I agree, if by some miracle we go up I’d hope we don’t spend stupid money buying has beens and unknowns but I doubt that would happen with our new model. Most fans would expect us to come down straight away but would be great experience for the young squad we have. We would also get a wedge of TV money, no idea how the parachute payments work these days. The bad side to it would be possibly losing some good players and also the wage increases that come with promotion. Hopefully the player contracts will cover that depending on the league they are in.
