I probably didn't exain myself too well.

What I'm saying is that we may go up 'by accident' in the same way Boro or Blackburn might. If that happened I'd hate us to do a Forest and end up with players like Chris Wood. I'd prefer us to make a few sensible additions, keep the squad together and treat the season as another learning process. If we stay up we can make more improvements but, if we go down, we'd be richer for it in many ways. Of course we may lose a few players, who've impressed in the PL, but I'd expect our recruitment to be ahead of that.

Said after a few weeks of the season I thought Forest would click eventually and the World Cup break would help them if they could manage not to get left behind. Didn’t think the bottom half would be so tightly packed at this stage though! I don’t think I’d mind a transfer window like that if I’m honest :emoticon-0102-bigsm Going up would be good for us IMO, even if we do have a bad season and go straight back down the financial boost would be huge. Players values would increase too, Burnley offloaded a few average players for megabucks when they went down which helped fund their spending spree in the summer. The teams who end up in the top 2 come the end of the season are teams that’ve just been relegated and reinvest more often than not.

Was there any more info on Ekwahs injury after the u21 game the other day? He had his ankle iced up. Hopefully not too bad.

Good post mate. The problem is that the current squad would sustain a big divide......those who can handle the PL and those who can't. As you say,our recruitment is key, and, again,I agree,we would be richer, even if we came back down.
I suppose my point is.....I'm not happy to go up and get thumped every week.....I'd rather stay in the Championship until I'm really sure we're ready.....on field and off.... to sustain in the PL.

Disagree mate. If we go up as we are,and we don't disrupt the squad as you suggest, we will get murdered. We would have to do a Forest to gut our squad, sign a dozen players for massive fees, just to stand a chance of staying up,and we would be back where we were under Ellis Short.
No,patience, marra, patience. We've spent 5 years in the wilderness.....it'll take that to get back to where we feel we belong.
We're on the right road,I don't want to go back to those days where every home match we were sitting deep hoping to get a point without being taken apart.....can't go back to those days again.I'd rather stay where we are.
Agree 100% mate <ok>

I'm sure if we had a chance at promotion we'd go for it. The main thing is to carry on the path we are going on. All the building blocks are now in place for future success

I’m sure we would go for promotion if it was in our grasp. however KLD has said the club is nowhere near ready. I think he/they would be happy with a couple of yo-yo seasons if it meant bringing in the premier league money to invest long term while exposing our young players to the premier league without too much pressure. The problem we would have is that the supporters would never be happy with this, even if it was well considered. Some people would just want more money thrown around again regardless of the impact on the club.
