Not arguing with you, but I'm getting bored with saying this; Simms is a youngster playing in a massively analysed position. He's had little or no game time at Everton, and from looking at their squad precious little chance to develop by studying the strikers around him. He needs someone like Ross Stewart to watch and learn from, someone who can help him develop his game, learn the tricks and the skills a seasoned pro has. In 2 or 3 years I genuienly believe that Simms has the potential to become a very, very good striker. He has the physical attributes, he just needs to earn how to maximise them (strength, technique, hold-up play etc.). I'd be delighted to get him back - preferably on a permanent and go from there. He has 7 in 17 iirc, not a statistic to be sniffed at.
This, he has a lot of ability but isn’t the finished article, we won’t be signing anyone who is either, have him back in a heartbeat
We know what we will get with Simms, so unless their is a dead cert better than him.. I'm in I choose to believe this!
* checks to see if Stewart has signed a new deal…. goes back to work for 5 minutes... checks to see if Stewart has... *
Put myself to work from home on deadline day too, nailed on to spend the whole day watching ssn for us to get zero airtime and refreshing here
Linked with Ryan Porteous again today but it’s an article online that anyone could have written about any player we’ve ever been linked with.
Leeds apparently asking for a rather large chunk of Gelhardt's wages, which aren't insignificant. so feels less likely.
I'm more than happy with that. He's good enough. Its all about next season for me. Keep this set of players (minus Amad which feels unlikely), let them learn from this year and then next year we could have a chance. The permanent, young, "third" striker is much more important than whoever the 2nd loan is. They're going to be the one who goes into next season as second choice behind Stewart, or perhaps even first choice depending on events.
6 months of simms feels safe which allows us to be abit left field with the perm striker all works perfectly, if it comes off like long winded way of saying I agree with you
Didn't they say it was once all quiet on the Western Front, our lot are running them a close second, the wait is killing me and I should know better.
