How lucky are we to have him at our club, not only a class act but a really lovely human being. Great idea at the end, make the most of him being here lads, because this lad is going places, mark my words…..
The reason Chelsea wouldn't take him back, is because we'd committed for the season and his game for Chelsea prevented him from going out on loan anywhere else, but it looks like something's changed.
https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/news/harvey-vale-chelsea-loan-transfer-25968399 Vale back to Chelsea Vale will remain with the Blues for the remainder of the season, having already featured for the club in the Papa Johns Trophy. Having already featured for two senior sides in 2022/23, he is ineligible to feature for another club and his remaining minutes for the season will come for either Chelsea's under-23 side or in Graham Potter's team. The academy product signed a new three-year deal before heading to the MKM Stadium in the summer.
Also Simons is "for sale" according to this article. https://oxford.vitalfootball.co.uk/oxford-want-chelsea-youngster/ The 19-year-old, who is currently on loan at Hull, has attracted interest from the U’s, Charlton, Leyton Orient and Salford City. The defensive midfielder, who can also play at right-back, has managed just two competitive appearances and 80 minutes for the Tigers this season and is eager for regular game time. Kinsella claims that Chelsea are willing to sell Simons this month rather than see a return to the club.
The Baxter situation is curious. Have we just given up on him entirely because of his injuries? He's generally first choice when he's fit, and this loan deal was going to be a permanent last summer until Chelsea said they preferred it structured as a loan with an option (Tan's words) so it seems odd that we're now completely done with him. And the other side of it, that we're now looking at another new keeper to replace him, that's interesting too. Sounds like Lo-Tutala isn't as highly rated at the club as he is on here.
Strikes me that if we had committed to Baxter that would have been another financial loss... so if we can find a way out perfect... As for looking at another keeper where has this come from PLT?... Cartwright is back here now too...
His injury record is bad, like really bad for a keeper. After Tan spoke so heavily about going for robust players the other week, I don't think I've seen a keeper injured as much as Baxter. He's failed to make more than 20 appearances in the last 3.5 years (it will be 4 seasons). Slight caveat last season mind. That's a shocking record though and his levels have droppped this year too
Rosie said in the Humberside interview yesterday that he was maybe looking for a cover keeper due to Baxter's injury.
More like Ive not heard a manager speak before... I was bit unsure, really not sure, but hoping I'm very wrong..
