Forest fly to Blackpool ...

    It appears Forest chose to take a 40 minute flight to avoid a 2h30m drive, just about sounds reasonable.

    But EM Airport is 30 minutes from the City Ground and you'd need to be there 30 minutes before the flight for security checks, etc. It would take 15 minutes, from landing, to taxi, get through security, etc and get onto the coach which would take 15 minutes to drive to Bloomfield Road.

    So that's 2h10m which saves less than half an hour.

    A coach journey would mean players getting on and off the coach at either end in total isolation. The flight meant a journey to EMA, going through a busy airport, landing at another airport, jumping on a coach, etc. Covid anyone, not to mention flu and colds, etc.

    I drove to our match at Blackpool, from Mansfield, in a Transit van ...

    ... It took 2h35m and Mrs Smug slept for 2h25m <laugh>
