We've taken a rwo month rental, while our cottage is renovated, and it's pretty isolated. I want intermet but don't want to pay <laugh>

There's Netflix and YouTube but I can't see any router or whatever. If those two things are working does that mean there's internet?

If so can I tap into it?

Yes. They're streaming services so they wouldn't work without a live connection.

Can’t you just hotspot a fire stick or something from your phone?

You mean installed on the devices already in the cottage you are renting? Does netflix work? If so there must be some Internet.

If it doesn't work other renters may have hotspotted it from their phone.

Yes Netflix is working in the rental cottage.

I can't find the TV on my phone settings though.

I was hoping to use the TV Internet for my laptop.

I don't think tvs come with Internet built in so assume its connecting to a router!

Click your wifi connection settings on your phone and that will show up any internet connections within reach.

If you go into settings on your phone and click on internet you should see a list of routers showing like below :-

If it's got a lock next to it then you'll need a password to access it

@Smug in Boots the top one will more than likely be the one that supplies the cottage. Nowadays places like that come with WiFi so there should be something with the WiFi details knocking around

Unless it's a wired connection into the back of the telly and the WiFi is disabled at the router. I've seen that at some places.
