I like him and (of course) I want him to succeed massively ..... but I'm not convinced. I don't get his love in for Slater. I don't get his continued pairing of Seri and Woods. (One or the other, and the one is obviously Seri). I don't agree Greaves should continue at LB. I know why he did it, but don't agree. Also don't see him as captain, he needs to change it to a leader. Everything's a bit too 'nice, nice, nice'. I feel that he's still niaive and his lack of experience shows. Bit like McCann (but different!). Meaning, he's near obsessively trying to play a certain way rather than mixing it up and working out the best way to use what we've currently got. Evolve toward it instead. Overall I'm happy enough that he's our manager, and hopefully you are right about the longer term.
He's one thing in the press, but he's not all. Nicey Nicey on the touchline. Think he knows to talk up his players regardless of what he thinks though. And why not?
I think if we continued to concede from set pieces we’d complain more considering the rate at which we were doing that. I see our current performances as setting a defensive foundation to build upon in the future. Everyone keeps talking about us being a relegation candidate but then also expect us to beat everyone we play with ease? We’ve become harder to beat without a doubt hence the 1 loss in 6 which when adding more dangerous players back into the fold through returning from injury and the jan transfer window we’ll be able to start defending more by attacking. This is part of the process of rebuilding as shown by Arteta at Arsenal. It’s just a case of the hierarchy having the patience
He'll just be on stupid money because he was meant to be a decent signing. Probably the most high profile youngster we've signed in ages.
What sort of money are Vale and the Arsenal youngster Oulad M'Hand on per week, are we talking north of £10K + per week?
Despite several stories in the press, Rosie has confirmed that we’ve not received any approach for Tufan.
Salah shouldn't be on that much. He wasn't the crown jewel of their youth academy. Vale on the other hand, I've said on here I guessed he's on somewhere near £20k a week (not that we're paying it all) but HT or ST will know more accurately. It will be stupid for Vale, as Chelsea would've had to pay daft money to keep him
No, it's that he's on more than most of our first team are and he's made a handful of appearances. Just before he signed for us, he signed an enormous contract for Chelsea worth north of £25k a week, which we have been paying for.
Vale is on £25,000+, which we are paying for. We were in negotiations before he signed the contract, I don't think it was done on purpose but if it was it's a ****house move. Baxter is on about £10,000 a week. Some of those Chelsea youngsters are on more than our first team are. Mental money but when you've got an owner with near infinite funds, I suppose it doesn't matter. Salah is on relative peanuts as he was a reserve player, probably about £2k-£3k.
So are City going to re-negotiate the terms of Vale's loan deal, or send him back? They won't keep him on those terms will they?
I can only assume it's because of his exploits at the U19's World Cup or whatever it was before he came to us. Wish he'd ****ing well show said exploits here.
I wish that too, though if he is worth that kind of brass then we could perhaps give him more chances to play - from the bench as a minimum.
Just from what I hear he’s just not showing it. Will Jarvis shows as much if not more (apparently) just isn’t as physically developed as him. Which is good for us should his development continue
Can’t believe we’re forking out £25,000-a-week for a kid who isn’t even our player and can’t even make our bench yet we refused to sign a quality defensive midfielder in the summer which is one of our biggest shortcomings. Recruitment has been wildly unbalanced. Hope Acun and Kesler learn from it. By the way, I don’t know how much money Ndayishimiye wanted but someone on here said we were in talks with him but couldn’t agree on wages. Whatever he wanted would’ve been better money spent than the wages we’ve forked out for Vale, Simons and Woods.
