I had a good search before hand, although not massively accurate I think sancho led the line with vini junior and some one else being in the £150,000 to £200,000 grand a week club but I think they where all strikers.

Edit: de ligt is up there as well. My mistake.

But the point stands, who exactly is going to pay £100,000,000 and £500,000 a week for a potentially world class midfielder, when they can go out and buy a world class midfielder for £60,000,000 and £250,000 a week in wages

The suggestion that that's what he would demand and cost is ludicrous.

Like I say a desperate utd, a club making a mark might piss it away but not city, Chelsea, psg or Madrid.

Yes... And Sancho, De Ligt, And Vin Jr are 22,23 & 21.

Neymar, the jewel in crown and then world record signing. He was the statement, mbappe was the absolutely must have buy as hot prospect

Now, if you want to back off the number because the number reflect the 2022 wage levels and take a look to answer your question in relative terms.

500k = absolute top dollar still, but it was only Messi and Ronaldo money 4/5 years ago before barca went nuts and real joined them and of course psg scred them into it.

If we look now and see 1mil a year footballers right now (Messi, mbappe, haaland) then 500k is now top dollar but not unheard of.

4 years ago when Messi was on 500k jandon sancho was on 200k at dortmund. That's not bad for teenager is it?

We then need to look at Bellingham's situation at 19. He has his first big deal very early and is on a nice wage we'd all agree, but your first dealis that and the next one is where the vast increase comes and that is exactly why sancho had that much.

Now 5 years ago Donnarumma was threaten with death by ac milan fans as he planned to go on a free. The then teenager settled for 190k a week.

Another non striker btw.

So really guys if Bellingham is the top top talent going now then his next deal ought to be astronomical, and sadly, crazily 250k is not that. It's not even close.

BTW gavi is 18and signed up for 130k a week at barca. Fati is on 270k a week without even starting his career. De Jong is on 600k a week there.

The whole point of Bellingham moving is to jump that level from hot prospect to superstar. Either these big clubs want him or they don't and they are all talking like they do.

Imo as of 2022 the tootball world is mad so when 1mil a week is happening and a man utd keeper who can't even come off his line is getting 350k then tbh 500k is not unheard off.

Barca might get their baby talent to sign up once for what used to be great money but I cannot see how we think Bellingham will settle for that when there blood money there

So all that... Just to confirm none of them are making 250k.

Wow.... talk about missing the point.

You guys need to get real here.

Wherever Bellingham goes he won't be on 250k a week in 2023.

I've shown with plenty of example across about 6 years who the very hottest prospects get big wages. Each one has been denied as an outlier, clearly the delusion that Bellingham is a mate of x and y players and will play for half his worth just to wear the shirt runs deep.

As I said, for lfc to pay bother the fee and the wage required a major change in policy and direction by fsg. Prior to this mooted "sale" I said it was never happening. At this moment in time it's going got require a significant shift in ownership with someone new breaking the wage structure.

ARE

being operative word

Sancho was a teen when he got 200k a week 5 years ago. These guys are allowed to grow up you know!

I excluded several real Madrid kids as they were not worlds hottest properties due to the fact real as a top top of the food chain club had got them already as kids. I never even mentioned any real ones.

As I've said many times and been ignored cos it doesn't suit the dream. Bellingham is the hottest property in Europe precisely because he is available for sale to the highest bidder.

I can see your struggling with this.

I'm not saying liverpool won't pay him half a million a week, I'm saying no club will pay him half a million a week.

It's nothing to do with mates, who his parrot & dog supports its just basics nobody but the very best, proven players get that wage.

It's supply and demand thanks.

This whole thing as started by milk saying 250k a week and I've pointed out why that's a pipe dream.

How much is sterling, grealish, de gea on, how much as alexia ****ing sanchez on ;)

500k is no longer the mark for the ultimate players
1million is. Haaland , messi and mbappe are up there. I fail to see why people suddenly want to knock Bellingham to show he will accept less.

I can't see why people think 500k is for the top teir when even robaldo still merits thst.

(BTW players like iniesta, Oscar, greizmann and other are all on it)

It's simple market forces. Either Bellingham is the hottest property in Europe right now or he is not. If he is then he will have a list of clubs vying for him to play off against each other and get the best deal.

I mean we thought at the time coutinho fee and wage was ludicrous for what he was but barca managed to pay it.... 6 years ago. 250k then OK fine, 250k was a huge wage for Bellingham but today? No it's barely the going rate for some quite average player really.

As for the teenager get out, guess what he will be 20 before July 1 and a world cup hero (apparently)

an obvious answer to that are half the big clubs in Europe are in serious financial difficulty and are desperate to get reduce their wage bill not expand it .

Is Bellingham the "hottest property in Europe" right now, or is it just our Anglocentric media making it into something big?
Is the rest of Europe as obsessed with him as we appear to be?

Guess it depends how you determine the hottest property. Are we talking best young prospect or are we talking most sort after?

Bellingham isn't the hottest prospect, I'd rate Vinicious Junior higher for example. But he is probably the most sort after atm (on these shores at least)

Yet again you've named established players that are in their prime as bench marks.

Name a 20 year old and this is important midfielder that commands half a million a week.

Yeah, but the question I'm asking is whether or not the subject is a hot one throughout Europe or is it just our usual media inflation of all things English.
I can't imagine there being this level of debate in Spain or France over him - maybe a bit in Germany.

Do you not think we think he's massively in demand because he's constantly linked with us?

The smallest detail blown up into something it's not.

I'm yet to see anything concrete that there's loads of teams after him, I'm still not sure we are after him In all honesty.

Nah, they all know he's coming Liverpool <cheers>

He's been linked to a lot of English clubs. We probably see more links to Liverpool because it's the club we support

Yes, but linked by who?

The media, click bait articles, journalists who fish around in a hat for a players name then put it next to a clubs name that they pull out of a different hat.

Crewe are looking to nake a massive bid for salah, you heard it here first

They're awaiting C.Ronaldo's decision first
