I had a good search before hand, although not massively accurate I think sancho led the line with vini junior and some one else being in the £150,000 to £200,000 grand a week club but I think they where all strikers. Edit: de ligt is up there as well. My mistake. But the point stands, who exactly is going to pay £100,000,000 and £500,000 a week for a potentially world class midfielder, when they can go out and buy a world class midfielder for £60,000,000 and £250,000 a week in wages The suggestion that that's what he would demand and cost is ludicrous. Like I say a desperate utd, a club making a mark might piss it away but not city, Chelsea, psg or Madrid.
Neymar, the jewel in crown and then world record signing. He was the statement, mbappe was the absolutely must have buy as hot prospect Now, if you want to back off the number because the number reflect the 2022 wage levels and take a look to answer your question in relative terms. 500k = absolute top dollar still, but it was only Messi and Ronaldo money 4/5 years ago before barca went nuts and real joined them and of course psg scred them into it. If we look now and see 1mil a year footballers right now (Messi, mbappe, haaland) then 500k is now top dollar but not unheard of. 4 years ago when Messi was on 500k jandon sancho was on 200k at dortmund. That's not bad for teenager is it? We then need to look at Bellingham's situation at 19. He has his first big deal very early and is on a nice wage we'd all agree, but your first dealis that and the next one is where the vast increase comes and that is exactly why sancho had that much. Now 5 years ago Donnarumma was threaten with death by ac milan fans as he planned to go on a free. The then teenager settled for 190k a week. Another non striker btw. So really guys if Bellingham is the top top talent going now then his next deal ought to be astronomical, and sadly, crazily 250k is not that. It's not even close. BTW gavi is 18and signed up for 130k a week at barca. Fati is on 270k a week without even starting his career. De Jong is on 600k a week there. The whole point of Bellingham moving is to jump that level from hot prospect to superstar. Either these big clubs want him or they don't and they are all talking like they do. Imo as of 2022 the tootball world is mad so when 1mil a week is happening and a man utd keeper who can't even come off his line is getting 350k then tbh 500k is not unheard off. Barca might get their baby talent to sign up once for what used to be great money but I cannot see how we think Bellingham will settle for that when there blood money there
There's clearly a flaw in your argument. 18-19 is a very short period of age and several examples have signed as teenagers and moved up to just 20. And why.... Bellingham will be 20 next summer so if he signs that contract on July 1 (highly likely due to financial years) when moving next summer then he won't be a teenager either I suggest you look up what I did which is highest paid teenagers and theres quite a few examples. This is a 150 mil fee and you think he'll just be offered coutinho wages? That was 5 years ago. Inflation in football is madness
I really can't be ****ed picking apart that ****e. Drawing on barca as an example is yet again ridiculous. Look look barca pay this kid 900k a week, but there going into administration. But psg pay mbappe a million a week. Your examples are stupid, I don't understand why you persist. Bellingham is very good, but he's still a youth. Not a world beater. Why you persist in comparing him to outliers is beyond me, while rubbishing the reports that compare him to the outliers is mysterious
They are facts mate, not one is made up so...... is he just not very good all of a sudden that not one of these sportswasher will offer him the earth??? There ever more madnessin football and more dictators and such desperate to flout their riches
OK. I've asked a couple of questions that you haven't answered. This is a simple one Why would the sports washers as you say buy him? He's linked to Liverpool by the rags, but he's not a world wide star that the oil clubs usually buy? I'm struggling to see your argument to be honest
He has been a prospect since he was 15-16 but to some extent is still a prospect as areas of his game need refining plus better tactical awareness but he has the makings of a very good to top box to box midfielder . The examples you use are a club which has already sold a chunk of its future revenues just to keep going , and isn't paying De Jong 600k p.w. but will be plus some in 6 months time , and PSG so not sure you have many grounds for your assertion he will be offerred 500kpw and if so by whom ?.
Cos just about every club "asked" have expressed their interest and respect for his talents? Like psg president just the other day? As I've said there's a massive queue here for the hottest property in Europe right now. Why would they not all be interested? What I just dont get is how people A) think he's amazing and must be got Then B) actually nobody would want him And C) he won't cost 100mil And D) why he's accept a wage way less than what's on offer for bang average crap like grealish etc. If lfc are to get this guy we have to pay 100mil and spend 400-500k in wages a week. We can't be thinking anything else. Imo to do so is to just rationalise away fsg past approach to keep expecting the player to arrive without a massive change by fsg in approach. If bellingham ever wears red it will be because fsg do precisely that. Change the model. If they do then they will have had to have sold up or sold a sizeable chunk to say disney
