I’ve have already been accused of such, Bobby Boy….. Coming from a sleazy Tory like Zahawi…I’d wear the accusation as a badge of honour.
This is from the RMT side but if these are the proposals i'm not surprised that the rail unions are striking. Just that first clause lol: - Key points within the RDG's determinantal proposals: 1. That all Workforce Changes are accepted without reservation or industrial action; 2. Closure of all ticket offices and displacement of all retail staff; 3. Creation of a new multi-skilled station grades; 4. A mass job severance programme; 5. Driver-Only Operation of trains in all companies and on all passenger services; 6. New arrangements for mandatory Sunday working; 7. A review of all On-Train Catering services leading to cutbacks in provision and jobs; 8. Review of Fleet grades’ working practices and depot driving; 9. Flexible working contracts, working and rosters; 10. Mandatory adoption of new technology with no payment; 11. New Attendance Management scheme; 12. Review of Stood Off arrangements; 13. New annual leave and sick pay arrangements
Now from that exchange…..who would you trust to tell the truth ? As I’ve said before, strikers are painted as the lowest of the low by the right wing media here and sadly many of the public will believe the lies. I’ve even been told by a patient recently that by going on strike I would be directly responsible for children dying and should be ashamed of myself. Of course the fact that I was there with her, dealing with her chronic issue in an “emergency” capacity…while there was no one to deal with someone in cardiac arrest….was totally lost on her. And I’m the bad guy ?
https://www.rmt.org.uk/news/rmt-reject-rail-delivery-group-offer/ I saw someone post this and share this link. Again, i'll reiterate this is their version of the events. Be interesting to see what the documents say but i imagine it'll be a million pages long. Oddly enough, none of the MSM are reporting this at all, just the pay rise aspect and general conditions but to be honest i expect nothing less from our media
interesting. Starmer is "proposing" (we know these are just "promises) but the below doesn't sound too bad: One of its most eye-catching recommendations is the proposal to scrap the Lords, but other recommendations include: Transfer 50,000 jobs from Whitehall to outside London Banning the vast majority of second jobs for MPs and eliminating foreign money from UK politics Setting up a new anti-corruption commissioner "to root out criminal behaviour in British political life where it occurs" Give local authorities new fiscal powers to raise revenue Create a legal requirement that decisions must be taken as close as possible to the local community Include Scottish Parliament in international agreements involving Scottish areas Establishing hundreds of regional clusters of innovation Create new directly elected mayors in Scotland
They look unreasonable as written. It would be helpful if the company came out and endorsed or disputed them.
Thanks. I'm sure Sky or the BBC will, at some point, summarise where the negotiations have got to. It's an important enough issue.
i heard we're sending them back to their own country. Then we can also reduce unemployment up norf and save on the dole money
