According to Coach Smith at the Colorado Rapids, Caleb has "18 MONTHS to go on his current contract" :

    http://www.mlssoccer.com/videos

Puts a whole new aspect on the situation. How the hell did he manage this?
The Rapids won their last trial game 2-0 but I have no details. Speculation is that they want him but their salary cap won't allow it unless they use up one of their "outside-the-cap" options.
WARNING: Reports say that Caleb "Picked up a knock during the game" - Uh-Oh!

Well Rooney why the hysterical headline...you intend whipping up a witch hunt against the lad...he is an hull city player who has provided valuable service to the club...he helped get us promoted once and there is no reason why he couldn't do it again...except that Pearson has given him the cold shoulder...a fit Folan may just help us make the play offs again so don't write him off just yet

A knock, he has everythng in his game except a heart, he could well be out 3 months with a knock.

He is the only blight on an otherways perfect few months.

He doesnt have the bottle for the game anymore! I think he would be more than happy collecting a pay cheque from us for the next 6 months/18 months (whichever story is right). I've never known a player with his physique be such a fanny!

Did Folan not have heart when he played out the game at Barnsley despite being seriously injured?.....where was Barmby,s heart when he walked off the pitch after 15 mins and then play the next game?

Fit Folan wouldnt get anywhere near our side we have 4, 5 if you include Cam Stewert better strikers than this big donkey. NP is trying to create his team and Folan is no where near his type of players. The over paid heartless ones have player there last minutes for the club. Folan will never pull on the city shirt again. Fact.

Seriously injured?? Come off it! Folan wouldnt know seriously injured if it ran up and kicked him in the bollocks!

Are we talking about the same Folan that decided he didnt want to play against Pompey because he was too tired?? This after playing in a grand total of one game. There's no wonder NP has shipped him off to MLS!! He's a waste of space!!

How the hell did a player that's barely ever available manage to get a two year extension to his contract?

I suspect it's just another example of the previous regime's poor decision making.

He should have all the attributes to be a good player, but the sum of the parts don't seem to make a whole and he's never realised his potential. He chipped in with some goals from the bench in our promotion season but has been very poor since, mainly because of his psychosomatic problems that see him out the team for six months with things like a dead leg. That and the fact that he can't stay onside and can't jump more than two inches off the deck.

Either we'll offer to pay part of his wages, or we'll be stuck with him, anyone who sees him play will realise he's not worth anything like £16k a week.

I thought folan did show a lot of heart agianst Barnsley once injured and was unlucky with his chance which hit the bar.

That said why the pop at Barmby who shows more fight than any other player. Cheap shot without any factual basis.

Barmby's 37 and not exactly built like an athlete, and he went off with a muscle pull, a proper injury. Folan who should be in his prime and is lucky enough to have the perfect physique was hobbling around with what was described as a 'leg injury' and still hasn't got any better. He didn't have a broken leg or anything, and he didn't do his knee ligaments. He just had a 'leg injury' which usually means a dead leg, or some other such bollocks.

To take the point even further, Barmby plays with his heart on his sleeve, and Folan just refuses to get involved cos he doesn't fancy the battle.

But presumably you'll just ignore all this and say some other nonsense about The Pearson's being awful and Folan being such a soldier...

TWF/Tigga, same old tripe re. Barmby. Folan is useless and is as brave as an elephant when it sees a mouse. The only time he hasn't looked like a fairy was that match when he had some sense knocked into him, and that was probably because he was a bit confused and didn't know where he was.

Barmby is 37, still has great pace and is quite an athlete despite his years.

He apparently trains harder than most, is actually fitter than most and considering he has played professional fooball for 20 years still looks as hungry as he ever did.

Can anyone please advice me if they know of many others who are like this....Beckham, Giggs, Barmby...all in the same mould as far as I am concerned.

By the way, I think as a person he is a total knob but his football is something else....so this is not a westandtiger-Barmby love in....just annoys me when some numpty slags a player of when it is unfounded...Folan on the other hand is a pussy, looks unfit, clumsy, cannot read the game, cannot pass, cannot score and like Andy Gray would say 'does not know the off side rule'

Well you called that one wrong Lambo about Folan's contract and you are digging yourself deeper with your lack facts. Since when did you become a pyschoanalyst?Do you really think any player has serious time off without a just cause. As I recall Folan spent a long time off with damage to his thigh(so called dead leg) but during that time he had fluid drained at least 3 times from the wound, each time requiring recuperation ,as indeed you would have done. Again following his injury at Barnsley, which others make light of, he required an operation, as indeed did ***an eventually. Is that in the mind? For posters to ignore facts and make up rubbish shows the predujice they have against the lad..... And your quackery to help fan the flames does not help..

I just thought I would quote this so that the writer(sic) could have another chance to see what true garbage looks like. To him noly his precious Nicky suffers 'proper' injuries whilst someone else's which require surgery are not! Is this a true example of prejudice or just a lack of intelligence.
