they’ve gone about proving everyone correct who have been saying since forever that refs don’t add on the right amount of time the dodgy bastards
Would be interesting to have a running "time to add" count on stadium display screens alongside the elapsed time for the current half (would allow outside attempts to correlate game events with time added on) .
Based on this game, the remaining England games IMHO will be much akin to yer average PL game. Therefore the scale of the win against Iran, in general + as the first game, increases the pressure on the other two.
So much for bribing the refs If they were, the Saudis would be booked for timewasting before the kickoff, and Argentina definitely wouldn't have had any goals ruled out...
Romero still doesn't look right, looked be at fault for the first Saudi goal and never looked comfortable.
International coaches are taking too many risks with the players and it's not working out. Romero shouldn't have gone and he certainly shouldn't have started that game. They didn't even need him. Martinez from Utd's hardly ****, is he?
A game should be 90 minutes of football. That's what people pay money for. If officials start keeping accurate time that's just fine with me. Players will soon learn and the durations will drop. Hopefully, anyway
Robert Lewandowski sure manages to get elbowed in the face by players a foot shorter than him a lot, doesn't he...? Also, if anyone is thinking that Poland/Mexico is likely going to be the worst game of the tournament, remember there's at least three Switzerland games to come
I didn't think it was any worse that Tunisia v Denmark, there was only 1 goalless draw at the last WC we have 2 in one afternoon this time.
Sloppy at the end but far and away the best attacking side so far, although you only play what’s in front of you. Argentina might have preferred a different Middle Eastern opponent
From what I caught of Poland/Mexico, it was painful Mexico's sole tactic was to get it to the wide players to dribble inside, which Poland prepared for by doubling up on them every time they tried - and if a Mexican tried to go through the middle they got clattered Basically, Mexico were us in the 2020-1 season, and Poland were Stoke once Pulisball stopped being as effective
