So the press shouldn’t report on anything which isn’t hunky dory? It should be like Pravda in Soviet times where air crashes, the biggest football stadium disaster and other occurrences remained unknown to those unaffected by it?
They shouldn't be like Pravda, but having attended a World Cup I've seen the press in 'action'. Some of the ones I saw would do well as scriptwriters for Jackanory.

Maybe just for this thread we should stick to
world Cup games, rather than anything to do with Hull...

But Hull is the centre of the world. And we have such a strong connection to it. Someone who played for us briefly is playing in it.
Good bit of deflection though.

Yes, but our press tends to sensationalise and exaggerate things concerning our fans and ignoring others. A bit like the HDM exaggerate and sensationalise any incidents involving City fans whilst ignoring worse things elsewhere. Whilst ignoring or sweeping under the carpet anything at rugby.
Some of our more delicate fans are always expressing their trepidation and unease about visiting certain away grounds. Never heard of an away fan from many club expressing fears about coming to the MKM. Not for City games anyway though rugby fans have. Not that that gets much of a mention.

Sweden 1958?

Sweden 1958?

Watched a documentary about Sweden a while ago featuring ABBA and comparing it to how strait laced it used to be.
During the 1958 the Swedish media issued stern warning about not indulging in unSwedish displays of emotion and exuberance and to confine themselves to polite applause. ( A bit like some would have the MKM) How times change. They will be turning. Just hope the death toll, hospitalisations and cases of trauma aren’t too high at their games with all that smoke and flares.

you're a master at talking about the same thing over and over
kudos

I wonder how many other mere mortals would've cashed in on their fame by accepting a huge amount of money to turn up somewhere?

No need to when you are worth £200 million or more.

As a man of principle not a touch of Qatari beer, rum or gin will pass my lips until the LGBT+ situation is resolved, people are treated fairly and alcohol is freely available. It will be a struggle but will power and principles will no doubt carry me through.
