Not good news for Senegal . Mane out for the first 2 games. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/africa/63640205 They will probably be relying on Sarr to step up and perform.
Agree - even the name of the authority is off-putting - the 'Supreme Committee'. Whether or not they apologised is irrelevant - it simply should never have happened, and there's no guarantee that it won't happen again.
I know for a lot of players this will be their last or only chance of a World Cup but on every single ground apart from football all the teams outside of the Arab States should withdraw before a ball is kicked
Thinking on the positive side of all this if, because of the lack of league football, Watford fans are at a loss what to do to get their fix at the weekend then Kings Langley FC (Southern League) offer reduced admission prices for Watford season ticket holders. My favourite non league team is Taunton Town FC (The Peacocks) (explaining such a strange choice would take a while) and this would be too far for the average Hornet but Kings Langley is only just down the road - or there is always Snalbans or Hemel Town ! I am hoping this could be the boost which grass roots football needs. As for watching games like Germany v England in the middle of a desert my dad was there the last time that happened
Having bribed FIFA to get the World Cup in the first place, Then lured fans with the promise that beer (if you can call Budweiser that) would be available, They now tell everyone that beer won't be available. How to win friends and influence people... https://news.sky.com/story/qatar-world-cup-beer-could-be-banned-from-all-stadiums-12750052
Even more bad news for some fans . https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...d-cup-by-qatar-have-daily-allowance-cancelled
FIFA laying into the Western World . Thought they wanted to just talk about the football and not get political? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63687412
Sounds like a bit of a twat - I wonder how much the Qataris bribed him to say that? Sure, the Western world has some shameful history regarding what is essentially slavery - but history is the operative word. In Qatar it appears to be present day. And he appears to forget that the history of slavery started in Arabia.
Basically any fans should have not bothered going. I guess the teams themselves were never going to boycott the tournament.
People are going to die out there unless they sort this out. They couldn't organise a p1$$ up in a brewery... erm... And they've sacked the people that can.
