The bloke is a money-grabbing prick. I hope he clings on to his job long enough to get the reception he deserves when he brings Stoke to the SOL in March

It will be interesting to see where Neil is in 2 or 3 seasons if he is still with Stoke and where we are. There is clearly a different approach and hopefully ours is a better more successful one and which does not take us to the brink unlike last time.

From the Stoke forum today ...

"This one is shaping up to be our worst for maybe 15 years? Terrible players, terrible side."

    "Terrible manager you missed out!"

I'll thank him for getting us out of L1, I do think he was a massive part of that. But after that he can **** off the greedy little baldy ****wit.

He has gone there for money and to be closer to his family, nothing else. ****er.

Football isn't a straight forward process. You can be very successful, move to another challenge repeat the exact same things and be a disaster .. timing ,luck people bonding etc are never guaranteed.. if he struggles there he will never get another big job , he will be judged as untrustworthy .

It's often as simple as which manager you replace.

Neil replaced Johnson who'd become unpopular because of his endless clichés and delusion. Neil was blunt and realistic so the players, and supporters, saw him as a breath of fresh air. He also had the benefits of a play-off position, great support and a decent squad ...

... at Stoke he's replaced a similar manager who couldn't motivate a demoralised squad and apathteic support.

The players don't seem to be responding at all judging by results and the comments on their forum.

Right place at the right time is massive in football. Someone like Darren Bent should have stayed and he would have been a legend here, it all just seemed spot on at the time. But, players and mangers see that the grass is greener and they leave for the cash these days.
