Absolutely bleeding fuming. Yes the ref was sh1te, and it could be argued that the useless twat's indecision over the Hendrick foul cost us the game, but we really are our own worst enemies as well. Another 2 goals from crosses go into our net - at least Rosie recognized the problem in his post match interview and plans to work on that during the next 4 weeks.
Why didn't Slater just swing his left leg when the goal was gaping?
Why didn't both Fig and Greaves block Carroll at the end - we all knew where the (Undeserved) free kick was going?
And why didn't the ref just put a blue and white shirt on?
Those spawny time-wasting bandits are going back down south with 3 stolen points - Unbelievable!

Now I'm to get pissed to try to forget about it

Docherty I think has a place in the side, but as a side wanting to push on with European standard players and keep the football we need to work out an identity. We have a mix and match side. Statistically the grant lads do not find men as much as the lads who have come in, over the course of 40 games they will lose the ball more often and cause problems, we need a mix of the two without doubt but numbers do not lie. Maybe that’s the engineer in me but it Is basic sense sometimes, look at a Man City, not about grafting it’s about finding men, the more often you can find a man in your colours the less chance they have to score. Over the course of a full season, this will always beat hard graft with men not technically up to standard, follows the xG model and as soulless as it may be, it works.

Whilst I get your point its primarily down to the square pegs in round holes issue we have currently. We have 2 CM's playing out wide and a winger playing up front. Reason I say this is when Doc dropped deeper as a proper "number 8" he did seem to create some space for Seri to pull the strings a bit. Something for example I dont think Woods was offering.

I like stats too. But they dont show everything in a flowing sport like this

I do like Doc, I try not get bogged down into numbers cause his attitude has a place. Would like to see how we get on with a fully fit side, just think we need to have some balls and not set out as defensive.

Thank goodness for the World Cup.... time to rest and get some bods back. The problem is of course that this is true of every club in the division. I said the other day, we won't play Cardiff every week, more's the pity. There is a huge amount of work to do and for people thinking the window opening will sort the problem, I think you need to think again. In his interview when asked about players he wants here, LR stressed, that the squad is too big and his priority is working with what is here and shipping some out.. I do hope that the break allows him to look at some of the younger lads we have at the club.

We've scored 5 of the last 7 goals at home and lost 3 and 2 - 1. I'm still fuming with that ref, and other refs....but we really are our own worst enemies. You just knew they were scoring from that free kick late on, every corner the opposition has feels like a cracking opportunity for them. The crowd prob doesn't help but when you've had home form like ours for 16 months since the start of last season, what do you expect?

It's all very well saying Longman isn't good enough but who else would you play there? Tyler Smith?
I think the 3 subs at once robbed us of a bit of intensity which we had built up, but we lack pace. We make openings but can't get away from defenders because of it.
Need to be able to defend crosses Jones and Greaves need to bulk up.
At every corner in the first half, a Reading player stood in front of Baxter and leant back into him. Baxter moaned at the ref who did nothing, moaned at the linesman who did nothing. Every corner was dangerous because Baxter was blocked off, yet we did nothing but moan. We need to get street wise and counter this ****.

What you basing that off Sofascore?

He certainly wasn't the worst player or anywhere close.

I just thought we looked very leggy.

We didn't deserve to lose today and the over reaction on here as always is insane.

I think we need Tetteh back above everyone else.

The rest of the issues aren't anything new. We need someone to partner Seri and a centre half or 2.

Another defeat, but that was very different from other recent ones. We completely dominated and Reading barely had a chance in the game. It's a freak smash and grab which happens sometimes. Playing like that though, home defeats will be far less frequent than they have been.

We lacked a cutting edge in attack, which is about what I'd expect from a team with no strikers and a lack of wingers. And we clearly still need to sort out our defending of set pieces. As an overall performance though, that was one of the best we've had at home for a while.

We started off ok, and I thought they looked better organised and more confident for the first 20 minutes. Went a bit flat and then the refs appalling performance plus Readings time wasting seemed to keep knocking City back and they didn’t recover.

Hendricks tackle looked like a potential ankle breaker to me (two footed when he left the ground) and a clear red. There was a foul in the run up to their second goal to that the ref should have spotted. We’ve had him before and he was crap then too.

As for the acts of Remembrance - if I was Hull British Legion I’d decline future invites on the grounds of the total lack of dignity of the event. It was exceptionally poor to have the ref blow the whistle and have everyone on the pitch ignore Reveille and the Kohima prayer. Bad show.

Ref contributed to that being a mess too. Whistle happy

What sort of player do we need alongside seri?
I actually think we need allayhar back first
