Just to be clear, I would have voted against Russia and Qatar being awarded the World Cup (and South Korea too) entirely because of their discriminatory practices. But I would vote against the UK too, and indeed most other countries because of discriminatory immigration policies.
I didn't know that...thanks for pointing it out. So how do the many countries with laws that discriminate remain members of FIFA?
I don’t know. But the Statutes are signed off by every member FA IIRC. Or by at least 75% of them in a vote. Of course these are the FAs not governments and it’s FIFA anyway so we know it’s corrupt. But it’s not a good look.
My posts ain't aimed at you or anyone else on here tbh...think the attitudes on here are pretty sound
Qatar just booted out a load of them prematurely, leaving them in debt to the people traffickers back home. How did that improve the living standards of those that survived? What's the issue with South Korea? I'm not particularly familiar with their politics.
and that’s why I’m going to be enjoying it I reckon the weather will be better than it was in fascist Russia last time out so that’s a plus
Every time I see a period photo of the crowd at White Hart Lane I take ages scanning the faces in the hope of spotting my great grandfather, grandfather or my dad , one day I'm sure it will happen
Dave Mackay would have been 88 today. What a proper Tottenham legend (before my time but heard the stories) How Spurs could do with someone like him these days. Happy Heavenly birthday
Great in his time, but he would have to amend his style more thanks a little or he would be suspended for more games than he played.
From what I remember watching Dave Mackay he was more than his reputation as a hard man , hard to get off the ball and had an eye for a pass ,broke up play but most of all a leader
I never saw him play for Spurs (I did once for Derby as a real youngster), but recall on a video of Spurs Best XI, that he was described as being as skillful as anyone else at the club in training.
