More shots, more shots on target, more possession and more corners. Generally played well but poor finishing and rash defending cost us.

We may have to change the manager but regardless we need a finisher.

Armstrong our best player. Good to see Lavia back. Not sure what has happened to Bella-Kotchap. Aribo was dreadful. Disappointed not to see Mara at all.

Lavia is a tremendous footballer. Best 18 year old I've seen in a CM position. He's going to be scary good.

Jesus that was bad.

Fans fighting each other in the stands, the general apathy of most people there. People couldn't even be arsed to boo at the end. Absolutely lovely to see Nigels reception

Great to see Nigel but couldn't believe some people in the crowd actually want him back as manager.

There's some truth to this point about finishing but Sky showed various stats before the game and while we've only scored 11 goals our xG is only 12. So the finishing isn't that bad. The problem is we don't create many chances and the finishing is below par. Oh, and we have a tendency to defend badly as well.

I think most of that is on the manager.

Yeah I struggle to see how you can’t put that on the manager. Picking Ely and Theo today was obviously for their defensive qualities, we still conceded 4. We don’t create enough, whether someone like Edozie, Mara, Aribo could start scoring/creating more in a different system remains to be seen.

Picking attacking players based on how much they press (ie defend from the front) is not what we should be doing imo

This. I accept now it's time to move on and get a new manager. But he can't cop all of the blame. It's not his fault Elyounoussi can't score from 5 yards out, or Che hits it straight at the keeper from 10 yards out like he did last week. Nor can he be blamed for our greatest shortcoming this season - scoring goals. That lies with the board. They ****ed up by not getting a PL quality forward in when they had no excuses not to. Like Brendy said last week, they cannot wait until the end of Jan to bring someone in. They have to complete a signing while we've all still got left over turkey in the fridge. But sorry Ralph, I don't see any point in dragging out what seems inevitable now, I think you should go tomorrow.
Spot on, though I'm disappointed that it hasn't turned out well for Ralph. He's a genuine bloke and despite the obvious reasons for a change, on the basis of personality and commitment, he's a hard act to follow if he now departs.

They really wouldn't. As Chilcs says, I think most of us realise that it's time to change, but the seemingly gleeful picking of the bones is a bit too much "SEE I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG" and not terribly balanced.

Those of us who wanted change a year or so ago had to deal with a load of condescending bollocks for ages. I’m not one to say ‘I told you so’ but I can understand anyone that does feel like saying it.

Edozie is exciting in potential terms, but I don't actually think he or Mara are quite ready to start yet. I would have preferred Mara to Walcott today though (as I would have preferred AA to Walcott too). I may be completely wrong though, and at some point they *will* be ready.

Depends really. If you want them to play a disciplined role with pressing/tracking being a big part of the game then yes I agree they aren’t ready.

If you just chuck them on as part of front three with the instruction to just attack I would be interested to see how they got on. Our midfield of JWP Lavia and Diallo “should” be able to mean our front three can just have licence to attack

<applause> Yep. A part of me feels like we should bow in awe and some posters who have now decided enough is enough. Feels pretty pious to me, fair enough as I doubt it is meant that way, but to call people out for picking the bones and stuff…

Yes id agree with this. The thing that gets me with Ralphs time here, is usually how long players take to be ‘ready’. Like Salisu barely played for a year, Edozie (although he isnt ready at all to start I dont think), but id like to see Mara get some games.

Someone else said it, maybe Magic, that attacking players are picked due to their defensive qualities, this is why we barely create chances, and yet we still concede stupid goals.

Maybe if we used attacking players to attack, the other team wouldn’t find it so easy to carve through us, We seem so simple to play against.
