I completely condemn Qatar's record on human rights etc, but I fail to see what difference me not watching the WC will make.
Sport and politics shouldn't mix anyway, although of course they do.
I'll be watching, although I don't have a great deal of confidence in England doing much.
Southgate has taken them as far as he can imo.

I’m going to try not to watch it. Not sure how successful I’ll be, but can’t say I have any sense of excitement or even interest yet. Every country has something to be ashamed about but Qatar is pretty extreme and the manner of them being awarded the tournament was just sickening. It’s not a matter of principle, more just of disgust.

Like you I have invested time and money following England at international tournaments in the past. I feel more detached from the team nowadays, but not to watch at all would be a pretty big thing for me.

I'm planning on re-watching some classic tournaments while it's on instead. I'm not going to cut my nose off to spite my face, so I will go out with all my mates if they're watching a game together, but won't try and watch as many games as possible like I normally would for a world cup.

As a protest?
