a little under socksblownoff but. we'll see. At least the beers improved. <caveat> apart from no-one has taught the kiosk staff the correct way to dispense a surge Guinness.
 
How can any of us say whether he will succeed or not? We can't, but all the club can do is go for the best option at the time. In Martin's, I think Acun realised he aimed too high, so IMO, they have got it about right going for a young English coach who clearly has a future in the game.

Getting in an experienced manager as we know doesn't always work, ask West Brom and M'boro that, but giving an articulate, bright coach who is a student of the game a chance is probably at this stage of our development the way to go. Bournemouth did it with Eddie Howe and he has not done so badly, as has Potter who starting overseas, so I think this is the best option at present.

Liam reminds me very much of Marco Silva, and he was a breath of fresh air when he came to the club, it took him a bit of time to get used to the English game but he is now showing his true value at Fulham.

Yes it's a gamble, but if he is given time, then I am sure he will succeed, but as always as Tickler used to say TWT.

I would call it been in the moment and been realistic, I've had much bigger things happen in my life to worry to much about sport, yes it's a passion and I've said time and time again when our injuries clear up and a couple of signings we will be ok but all this , what if this ? Or we will do this? Who knows, been realistic means look at the now and we have been crap overall so change it, if not it's a struggle

Potter started in Hull coaching the Hull University football team.

Made me smile! Yes, it was a bit like that.
But ... a lot has been said about how well Rosie speaks. I've now watched the full conference (43 minutes!) and was left thinking that the same can be said for Tan. It's good that we have not only intelligent people who speak well, but also seemingly very good humans now at the helm of our club (Acun, Tan, Rosie, Daws).
Who knows if this will work or not, but it could be an absolutely fantastic era ahead if (when) it does!

I like the fact that he talks really emotionally about the club and what it means to be back. I think he’s going to do a great job, the emotional part will help drive him to deliver on the pitch. I think he’ll leave no stone unturned to improve us. May not happen immediately, but having listened to him speak so passionately and eloquently, I’m convinced it will happen. He needs patience and time. There’ll be no misunderstanding amongst the players as his communication skills are superb.

I think to be fair to Shota, because he came in mid-season it did take him a while to find out his best 11, but he did IMO do that and kept us up with games to spare. Where he really struggled was this season trying to knit a new team together, but if Tetteh and Allahyar had not gotten injured, maybe things would have turned out differently..

He was described as a football development manager at Hull University. Is that the same as being a coach, the title of his position at Leeds University?
