Read that a few weeks back clingo. Whatever his "failings" in getting us up to the Prem, I really enjoyed our football through his era.
Me too. It's where I want us to be again.
While I'd love to see him at the club again, I'm not sure he'd be popular with Vince and the rest of the board. I think he'd rub them up the wrong way. Also, he's been out of the game since leaving Hartlepool in 2017.
On occasions City going forward under him were breathtaking, but the problem to use his words was “we keep on leaving the back door open.”
He definitely would but that would be his downfall. I don't think he'd be interested in working with non football people anyway.

He'd certainly be the man to do that. And he'd be sacked straight after.He might give the kick up the ar$e Tan and co need.

Stick but get a DoF to support and evaluate would be my suggestion.
Whilst I think that's a very logical solution to support an inexperienced coach/manager, can anyone tell me of another club in our division that operates that system?
Maybe my lack of knowledge of the situations elsewhere, but for the life of me I can't think of one which hasn't just got an outright first team manager.
I don't think there is another club at our level that works that way. But that isn't to say it can't work for us. Let's be innovators.

From what you've posted, hope he's a better coach than he was a player.
Edit: just looked him up. 29 goals in 622 appearances from midfield or fullback. Not the striking coach we've been discussing.
Seems to me that if Hudson - as it’s appears - knows this bloke has been given a bit of a nod from the board.
3 losses in 4 with just 2 goals scored is not the form of an interim manager aspiring to be made permanent.
Being realistic only Hull at home offers a chance of a win before the WC break. Ok we might have one of our rare good away days at Sunderland but frankly I can’t see it. Sheff U have hit form again.
Conclusion? City will be looking or should be looking for a new manager soon.

Is this the board getting Hudson's "on the cheap" replacement in post in readiness?

Sounds like Hudson is settling to the job if he's picking staff, bit worrying really.
The good results early against Burnley, Blackburn and Wigan rightly bought Hudson some time. Some sympathy came into play for Robbo's wrongly disallowed goal costing us against Coventry. The two "10 man" defeats against QPR and Swansea again cut him some slack, but really we were outplayed and outmanaged in both games.
Since then a 1-0 home win against a piss poor Rotherham was the highlight, but the Watford game showed us our true standing in this division. Bottom 6 would be a reasonable assessment and we're perilously close to that, though in all honesty with the players we've got, we should be better.
I personally don't see Allsop, Kipre, Ng, Romeo, Wintle, Ralls, O'Dowda, Robinson as bottom 6 players, but they're being pushed down there by a disfunctioning club and it's management from top to bottom. I hope this isn't going to end in tears for the club, but mainly for its' suppporters.
