The start of the season was pretty good until the summer break and the mid season rule change which seems to have knocked the wind out of Ferraris sail to Mercedes benefit.

yeah, it was awesome, I posted to Bhaji on the indy thread he should check it out just after it happened. Probably ban it at certain tracks, otherwise everyone will go for the last lap insanity move, and that could get dangerous.

We all want the British teams to do well, other than that British Drivers

There is just something about Max and Horner that is impossible to like

I have warmed a tiny tiny amount to Max .

Don’t get me wrong I still dislike him intensely.

But when you take into account both his father and grandfather are thugs , and Horner let’s him say / do whatever he wants , then IMHO I can cut him a bit of slack .

As For Horner himself , Take Him and the Helmet out of the equation , then I have a lots of respect for the rest of the the team.

I can't. People get exposed to enough other influences and hard knocks in the world to knock the arsehole edges off them here and there.

Verstappen acts like a spoiled brat with a potty mouth and no other driver can get away with it.

He's an adult and responsible for what he does. It's like someone standing up in court having battered someone and thier lawyer saying "but your honour he comes from a bad home, what chance did he have"

They will get thrown in the slammer cos that excuse just doesn't cut it.

It's not just RBR though is it... It's all the years combined that have been dominant before it. We were getting to a point where gaps were finally closing, and now we could be a year or two away from really seeing that gap close again.

It's a general gripe, not aimed at RBR.
That gap may close a little more with three teams who might do much to improve next year. Alpine,I`m looking forward to seeing Ocon and Gasly together. Also Mclaren should go better with the new young Australian to spring a few surprises because he`ll be keen to show he was worth the determimed effort he displayed to get a seat at Mclaren. Then there`s Aston Martin that are looking very promising with Fernando going there. So ,lots to look forward to next season,I think anyway.

My fear on this gap stuff is dominance of one engine or the other.

Same as "tyre wars" between Pirelli and Bridgestone way back when. if you were on the wrong tyre maker you were out of luck for the season

If we want close racing the current rules were one thing to get closer and drs is another thing to get by (still makes it a bit too easy in theory at a lot of tracks) but if one team can pass the field from pure engine power then its an issue.

It could be that a cap on power is needed. just some level past which development might be pointless and then it becomes a case of being smarter about gearing, engine part locations, weight distribution, fuel and so forth and so on.

In theory indy car has the popper valve didn't it if you hit the upper on the power band.

IMO todays situation is down to red bull having newey. thier car is just plain better in concept from soup to nuts

suspension, ride height, stability, downforce, drag and so forth and so on.
