Good work. I'm loving the range of approaches - some are blantant wind-ups, others more subtle, reinforcing statements in support of Shelvey and how Eddie rates him. DPP will be building himself up into a meltdown to match the Mackem board.
Just wait till Wed night...... We'll be starting with Shelvey, Wood, Murphy, Fraser, Longstaff, Lascelles, Manquillo, Dummett, Karius, Lewis, Meltdown on here will be almost as good as Hung's grumblings pre-match about the officials
To be fair, putting aside all the banter, It will be great for us to have Shelvey back again. Howe clearly sees him as a very good player and a very important part of our immediate future. We have to trust Howe. Plus, after his sub appearance the other night, I believe it is only two more appearances until his automatic contract extension kicks in - so that will be like a new signing for free. Win/win for everyone!
Well I for one think it's good that Nev has provided a well-considered and impartial view on the matter and not just simply resorted to childishly winding up DPP.

Huh? You’ve spent last few weeks bemoaning that Targett isn’t starting yet your January team has Burn in it??
I see the argument but don't agree. I think Manquillo (and Kraft though he's still injured iirc) is a good player, he improved a lot and would fit our style fine - he was poor for a year or so but had already improved quite a bit before he was replaced in the line up. As for at the left we have 2 good players already for that position (Burn, Targett). I've also been a bit surprised by how much Lewis has just been cut out of the situation entirely, I would have thought he was exactly a Howe type of player but trust that if he's not getting in the squad it's due to him not showing enough. I actually look at our bench and whilst i think we lack much firepower I also don't think we get weakened that from using it any more, fully fit we'd actually already have some options (Isak and ASM in particular will be a boon). I'd prefer to go in for one player (or maybe two) who improve our first team and relegate a player (or two) to the bench and strengthen it that way. Priorities for me: 1 - CM 2 - Winger/Forward (though with a fully fit squad and the recent performances of Almiron and even Murphy this position isn't as bad as i thought it was!) 3 - CD, right footed (Schar has been awesome this season but someone to compete with his place who isn't Lascelles would be grand)
I'm not denying it's not a priority, but if Trippier gets injured we're ****ed. I'd not be wanting to rely on the likes of Manquillo or Lewis for RB. LB is covered, RB isn't now Krafth is injured.
I'm not sure newcastle have to do anything in January. They seem about a year or 2 ahead of schedule. It puts them in a position where unless good value and the right player is there they can just not bother
For now mate. No need to be complacent. We can still retain spirit without the need to bring on people like Fraser, Wood, Murphy and Lascelles.
Murphy is beginning to show signs of being a capable player. Unless the replacement is someone Bruno level at a cut price I wouldn't bother given the clubs position of strength in the market
I’d have Joelinton, Bruno, Lobby, new starting CM then 1 ready to start back up CM and 1 up and coming (though I’d prefer Joe White to be on the bench instead of Shelvey)
