It's the option I'm leaning towards ATM. Seem the most logical/safe option to see the season out and put us in a better place to attack the league next season.

But I'm also looking at how open and close the league is and think if and it's a big if, we can get a big coach/manager In then we could really have shot at going up, but then who says we couldn't do that under daws ( as you can see I'm pretty torn and I wouldn't be surprised if Acun&tan feel the same )

From what I'm hearing the applicants interviewed so far have been somewhat 'underwhelming'. So, Andy Dawson must be in with a shout (if he wants it) if he does well in the next two fixtures which are both at home. Six points there would position us close to the Play Off's and two defeats would, erm....... It's a huge decision to have to make with a lot riding on it.

He could always just say Daws is in charge til the end of the season
If it goes tits up by January
Drop him back into the coaching team and bring in a proven manager

The difference there though, was when Acun started the buying process, he also started the whole management process too, this was back in October, or earlier, I can’t remember. At that stage, it looked like McCann needed replacing. It was only the run in November & just before he was sacked that he looked like he had a chance. Maybe he felt more relaxed, but I think Shota was always coming in, regardless of anything, wheels had been set in motion long before the results had changed. You could argue that McCann should have been allowed to continue, but would that have been fair on Shota, given he’d pretty much been set up as the new manager.
With this current set up, there is no plan in the background, so Acun actually has a few options open to him.
As a few have said, announce Daws until the end of the season, no major headaches there, then see where we’re at. However always have a decent back up plan in case things go tits up.

All Daws has to do is change his name into Portuguese: André Filhodedave. That sun-drenched continental glow oosing through those latino types brings a certain cachet. Now we got us a top-class foreigner who can actually speak and communicate fluently in English. Excellent continental pedigree, previously managing Olympiakos Scunthorpikki in the Greek top division. Will insist on bringing in his own backroom staff, two of those we believe to be Beri Pardo and Roberto Stocadalo. Olá André, bem vindo à cidade de Hull, casa dos Tigres.

I think Pardo was the appointment and will eventually take the position once performances and results go stale under Daws.

That won’t happen. You can’t just drop the previous manager back into the coaching team. The clock is ticking in Andy’s future here IMO. A new manager needs to be brought in soon or he’s given the job full time.

The other problem with chazz’s suggestion is, if we struggle to attract a good manager now. How is it any easier in jan if we are in a worse position

I'm wondering if there is an interest in an international manager, and are waiting until after the wold Cup is over ? I really don't know, and it's surprising that it's gone all quiet since the Martins fiasco, I'm sure TWT, but just solely looking at the last 2 games Daws has certainly steadied the ship and got us playing some good stuff. How long that will last ? Who knows.

I'd be in no rush to change a winning formula right now. Can't really grumble at anyone taking a side with zero confidence or direction to a 50% win ratio over half a dozen games.

Yes a very difficult choice for Acun to make it’s easy to carried away with the caretaker manager bounce on the other hand why exchange one unproven manager for another. Especially when one has has a recent albeit two game record and is in the house. It’s heads you win tails you lose. Suppose that’s why he Acun, that is, leaves all the difficult decision to this forum like picking the team tactics and formations (lol). See Villa beat Brentford 4 0 there it goes again the owner dreaded caretaker manager bounce.

No, he’s a head of performance strategy.

That doesn’t stop him becoming a manager.

It isn't what he's been brought in as. You could say that about anyone on the staff.

If you mean head of performance strategy, then I would say you are correct.

His arrival certainly hasn't had a detrimental effect so far.

Andy dawson has never lost a game as city manager while we have scored more goals than the opposition
