Same. Watched the first three episodes today in the hope that it will make up for the Rings of Power letdown. And it didn't disappoint. Bloody fantastic so far. 8/10
I'm a big fan of Rogue One so was interested in this back story (to a back story!). I've watched the first 4 episodes and it's very good.
I'm not as keen on Solo, it's alright but Rogue One is a great script. Interestingly neither dwell on 'the force' or 'light sabers'.
I think 3 is where it goes a bit wrong and I stopped watching. Once it's all done I'll watch through the lot.
I’ve been thinking about this I might just have to do the right thing and watch it even though I didn’t rate it too much last time
Same. What made it, Andor and to an extent the original trilogy so special was that the story was driven by protagonists who were simple ordinary people doing extraordinary things. LOTR was special in this regard too; its real heroes were the little simple folk from the Shire. It's one of the biggest misses of Rings of Power imo. Far too many key protagonists are already extraordinary and ridiculously overpowered. The series tried its hardest to shoe-horn the Irish Hobbits into the script to achieve what the originals did, but it failed miserably due to the plodding pace of those scenes, dull script and the fact that the focus from 5mins in is on the tall stranger in rags who is beyond overpowered. So the simple ordinary folk don't do much more than throw some stones at an Eminem lookalike. Wholly unremarkable and so the magic is lost. Anyway, looking forward to episode 4 of Andor.
I'm on the last 15 mins of the last episode. Had to switch it off bcos I had errands. Then the match now. Going to finish it later. The last episode is very good so far. Defo 2nd series coming imo. Btw the penny dropped late for me that it's also the back story to Mon Mothma. Did you realise? please log in to view this image
Andor 8/10 Very good finale. Been a while since I've looked forward to a second season at the end of the first.
