The midfield 5 were all quality tonight. Seri and Woods really helped us retain possession and the doc drove us forward all night.

Think Coyles done a good job last few weeks, but I think Christie looks a much more natural fit at right back, retaining and moving the ball in tight areas.
Christie needs to work on his crosses.

This was definitely Christie’s best game. I think I’d be happy with either choice to be fair, as Coyle has done well too.

Oh and it was great to see Fleming back!

That was a huge, huge win, especially looking at other results.
Well done Daws with team selection. Needed a team of grafters and he got it.
I’d keep the same midfield for Rotherham, Oscar for Longman (who did nothing wrong) upfront and then let Daws choose the defence, with fullbacks maybe available. Gives us a solid base, with plenty of flair on the bench if required.

This.

Fk me we needed that, they were really **** and thankfully we put them away. Thought the first half was OK, not a lot of quality til doc scored, 2nd half was great, created loads and controlled the game nicely. We are a massive confidence team, get 1 up we're fine, go behind and heads go. Showed the value of a strong squad today, players able to come in and do a job, giving some of the other lads a much needed rest, Oscar in particular, not surprised to see some who didn't play getting hammered.....classic city fan reactions, but players like tufan who sat out tonight have been key in other games, bottom line some players will suit some but not other games. Woods mom for me, really stood out today.

Oh...and Fleming being back could be massive.

wouldn't start oscar on sat, we need longmans movement off the ball again

we don't have the pace on the wide areas that suits oscar more

It was very obvious the difference in workrate and chasing from a fresh Oscar v a run-ragged Longman. I love Oscar too but he needs to do a bit more Whitehurst-like fear of God chasing.

what happens when oscar plays in the current team is
the whole penalty area becomes an isolated part of the pitch

and our movement is far more restricted, longmans constant running, opens up space elsewhere, which means other midfielders can overlap

pelkas was very vocal in the prematch huddle

perhaps he coulda made some other decisions at the final ball, but he was stupendous, he is not afraid to put in a shift
If he could sort his finishing out…what a player he’d be

Tufan benched, Slater and Doch in the side and suddenly we look a lot more solid, who'd have thought. Still a poor error from Fig for their goal, what does Macka have to do to get a chance?
