Forums are full of opinions and nobody's opinion can be wrong . People could just as easily slag off people who never see wrong in our team. What makes a good forum is the ability to express your opinion without being castigated.
We all want our team to do well regardless of opinions expressed so let's just agree on that.YNWA

The pessimism is over done. The reality is that we will give them a game and I don’t think Pep thinks this match is a walk over. We are at home, in front of our passionate crowd. No reason why we can beat them. Start well on a high tempo.

Difficult of course and we need to be spot on with the tactics but this is a match we can definitely win. We won’t lose if we don’t.

Some of the comments on here are disgraceful.

Screams of plastic fans.

We should just except the loss and move on. What the actual ****.

If we don't expect a win, the hope should still be there.

If your not hoping for something, if your only happy when we are the clear favourites I'd suggest ****ing off and supporting psg or bayern.

Nobody said they'd accept it

Speak for yourself, my opinion is always 100% accurate

Same, just won't be expecting the win
I suppose by optimism I just mean hope - in this case at least. Football is unpredictable, and apparent bankers can occasionally turn out differently, so part of me is looking for one of those occasions, without genuinely expecting it.
I'm looking forward to the game even though I'm prepared for disappointment. For me at least it seems a healthier state of mind than constantly dreading the future.

City’s defence can be got at. However good Cancelo is at going forward he’s an average defender and Salah absolutely destroyed him in the community shield and the games last season.

Guess with no Walker he might end up playing Rb instead with ake or Gomez on the left? In which case Salah should also fancy his chances.

Dias and Laporte seem to be struggling with injuries so not sure if both back? Their back 4 is a bit unsettled though so if Nunez Salah firmino Jota can hit some form we could create plenty of chances.

think safest bet on the market is both teams to score in this one

Definitely hopeful, no point in watching if there is no hope. I always look forward to games too but as you suggest, expectations can vary

We're in the **** if we have to play corporal Jones/ Milner in midfield.

With Robbo back at LB, I'd put Tsimikas at RB. He's decent with either foot and got to be a better option there than Milner.

Alternatively, leave Gomez at RB and play Phillips (if he's not left?) alongside VVD.
