I eas heartbroken when we left, but the old girl had seen better days and was finished once they chopped the top half of the Roker end off. It was never the same afterwards. Stadium of Light is a massive upgrade.I miss Roker Park
The SOL is great, but it lacks the magic of RP
Aye, I was devastated to leave personally. So many memories that I never thought could be replicated. I used to love the area, walking to the ground, particulalry on a night game with those floodlights, clunky turnstiles, little bookies cabin, up the steps and there was this green carpet and a sea of bodies. Magical. Then I went to the Ajax game, walked up some steps and had my breath taken away. I knew we had made the right choice, but I will never forget Roker.I eas heartbroken when we left, but the old girl had seen better days and was finished once they chopped the top half of the Roker end off.
