Sentiment for old players is great but it's blinding people for who the new manager should be. Granted the fans would give Dawson/Rosenior/Ashbee/Barmby more time but for me were much better getting proven manager in.
In his statement the other day Acun reckoned there was loads of interest in the job from quality candidates from around the globe - well get someone decent appointed then!
Hughton? The guy who had Nottingham Forest rock-bottom of the league when he left and the guy who replaced him got them promoted? No ****ing thanks.
Done well everywhere else. Plus he comes across as a nasty ****er which is exactly what this set of ****s need
Yeah I thought the same. He wanted someone in asap once he sacked Shota, but since Martin's turned us down he's in no rush.. I can believe we've had a fair few applicants, not sure I'd believe many are of, what I'd consider at least, high quality. But as you said, if they have, get them interviewed and get them signed up!
Surprised no one's talking about the lad from Peterborough. Got them sitting just outside the playoffs in Div 1. Could be worth a look?
Cant understand the desire to have a management team that consists of purely people that have been connected with the club in the past.
No room for sentiment in football - forget ex-players for me and bring someone in with their own backroom staff
