I'm not knocking him, he's a good striker, I'm just bemused by the belief that's he's something unbelievable when he clearly isn't.

Nothing to do with Liverpool, more at the circle jerk going on about him to be honest.

Especially since its clear most actually havnt watched him.

That's a vested interest driven by both City bought hack's and the prem wanting the biggest world star.

The Media love a new golden boy, it used to happen a lot with utd youngsters, score a few goals and they where lauded as a wonder, soon to disappear off into the wilderness of european lower leagues.

Its disappointing to see people who should know better buying into it though.

The thing was the media was always always desperate to get on fergusons good side as he was legendary for cutting people off or ending a career.

City no doubt have serious clout cos frankly if the only media willing to expose them is in Germany.

Not one uk rag is willing to do serious work on city's commercial fixing.

It must be some money changing hands, can you imagine the "scoop" for the paper that exposed their financials.

I'm half with you here. He is clearly more than ordinary, but at the moment he's being given far too much space. At some point coaches are going to get wise and make sure he's closed down better. Then we'll see how much better than ordinary he is. He's a big strong lad so he may be able to shrug it off and still score, but until we see him being marked properly we won't know for sure.
I watched some of today's game, and the one where he hit the post was an example - running through the middle from about 40 yards out in acres of space - give that much room to any top striker in form and he's bound to get goals.

This makes me wonder - there must be some journos who would love to be the one to bring it all crashing down.

It's odd because it's fairly obvious what they are doing, but getting into there 2nd set if books must be hard work.

There's always the little matter if, do you really want to piss off the saudis

They must have the best lawyers and creative accountants money can buy, so of course making any accusations stick would be hard.
They're not Saudis, but still any journo trying to expose them would need to be wary if asked to go to their embassy to discuss the matter...

We get through to Nov now in massively busy month then count days down to Jan 1 and start batching we we've not bought anyone each day that passes

What a ****ing shambles. We didn't get our first-choice midfielder, so we're not buying anyone: but will get a lad who hasn't played for months, is slower than an asthmatic snail, and nearly keeled over and died when he tried to play twelve minutes a month ago. But it's okay as we have Bellingham lined up next summer - providing he doesn't mind playing on Thursdays (if we're lucky), Dortmund will accept £50m less for him from us than everyone else is offering, and he'll play for half the wages Madrid, City, Chelsea and United will pay.

    Pah.

We don't have Bellingham lined up and never had.

That's a competitive market space that will be talked about all the way to the next window and dortmund, with respect to anyone thinking it's done, do not want to sell and **** up their cl qualification mid season

Their league is extremely tight this season amd anything could happen. Imo they will be desperate to hang on til may.

I've said many times he will never play for us simply due to the price and wage that is inevitable.

Imo Liverpool have overestimated current players and need to.bring the next big thing not the current big thing.

Diaz = our best player already. Nobody else comes close in work ethic, stamina and bit of skill. Paid.a pittance.
Nunez = big hope. Again paid quite little in wages.

    This is lfc.

Not Bellingham the biggest name out there every club is after.

I think he's been linked somewhere every single window for last 5 years. Almost certainly his agent as per.

First season syndrome maybe. He will be targeted by sides fairly soon.

No. Not in my opinion anyway. The reason he has so much space is that if you double up on him, Foden or Mahrez or all of the others will have ‘too much space’ He has a lot of space because City are passing their way through sides and pulling defences out of shape.

I know we all hate how they have spent their way to success but you can’t argue with the end product ffs <doh>

    You're really flogging this one.

You said 'only hard work brings success'. You're wrong. Hard work doesn't bring success, smart work does. It's how we managed to win our title.

You said we were 'knocking city's work ethic'. You're wrong. Nobody has done that. You have confused and conflated hard work with work ethic. They are two completely different things.

You are making an illogically fallacious argument. If I could make an analogy - you are saying something like 'everyone gets wet when it rains'. Some of the responses have been 'not if you use an umbrella' and 'not if you don't go outside'. Your take on that has been 'some of you are denying that rain is wet'. Nobody has said that because that isn't the contentious point. You can keep saying rain is wet, rain is wet, rain is wet as much as you like. It's a useless argument because everyone knows rain is wet.
