Should John Terry be even selected for England, let alone be captain, whilst he is 'under investigation' for racism? Discuss if you please ladies and gentlemen
I agree DM. I thought there was something that the FA set up a few years ago, that said any player under investigation by the police, would not be considered for England. I could be wrong on this though. Personally I think, if he is guilty, then he should be banned from playing for his country forever. I'd also like his club to take some action if he is found guilty, but I can't see it unfortunately.
Whilst in no way defending Terry his family background has a lot to answer for.You can't expect someone who grows up with that sort of background to be a model citizen. So,in a way,I suppose it kind of answers the question.
Probably just muttered under his breath, "you're such a failure as a defender, compared to your brother" Personally, I believe he is innocent, shagging someone else's wife is something 1000's of our population are guilty of, hardly a lesser role model compared to that moron Rooney who spits and swears at the live tv camera! Seeing as this was construed through the media, no-one to punish should the claim be proven false; whereas Evra is in deep trouble and looking at a 1-3 month suspension for false racism reporting (I honestly believe they should be banned for 1 year min if they fabricated the accusation) Such a shame our society believes "guilty until proven innocent", this approach ruins peoples reputations, such as false rape claims, false ***** claims, plus that chap Jefferies who the Sun villified for Joanna Yeates's death, wasn't even him, but let me ask you this: 10,000 people read Article X accusing Person Y of racism/murder/rape, etc......how many people read that Person Y has been proven innocent: hardly any! Rant over.
I wouldn't pick him. Look what picking Rooney whose mind was elsewhere did last time. Surely this is time for trying out fringe/young players anyway. I Don't know if he is guilty or not, let's wait to see what comes out of the investigation. On the other hand I don't buy his background excusing behaviour. Most footballers come from a working class background, many from council estates. He has many years of money and privilege as well as years of experience as a captain that should enable him to make good decisions. I hope that he has done the right thing this time as a number of children idolise him and he has influence over such children. I would rather he is seen as the excellent footballer he is rather than someone using crude rasist insults on the football pitch. Anyway, give him some time to sort the investigation out and then England can move on when the results are clear.
Terry was rubbish against the Montenegrins and was at fault for the Equaliser....................... Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggghhhhh, i m off in case i get banned
No based on the fact his an absolute c*nt. Club bias aside if he was someone who played for another club what would your opinion be?
I saw the clip and it was pretty straightforward http://www.pappzd.com/2011/10/john-terry-anton-ferdinand-racist/ Ban the twat. (And I am in no way being sexist)
If you do something wrong at work there is no assumption of guilt or innocence but something serious like this you would be suspended on full pay, end of!
John Terry is alleged to of called Anton a 'black c***.' And his excuse is he is that he was misheard and was actually called him a 'blind c***.' Now, to me that's like the dog ate my homework, but at the time John Terry says whatever he said to Ferdinand I can't see, if as Terry says he had called him blind, I can't see anything going on in the game that would cause Terry to call Ferdinand 'blind' or a 'c***' for that matter.
