Despite what some have said on here, we aren't in a position where we need to panic. The 2 performances under Daws have been a significant improvement and I really fancy us picking something up on Sunday too. We went with an outrageously high level appointment for where we're at and there's always going to be some wobbles. You've got to trust Acun though, I don't have a clue how he managed to persuade half the players he did this summer.
“ City believe the demands made by Martins were unachievable and opted to call a halt proceedings on Thursday evening after lengthy discussions. “ Such as letting him pick the team rather than Acun?
At least it’s an honest statement from Acun. Something we would never have had under the previous owners.
Give Dawson the role till the end of the month he got a lot right on Wednesday both tactically and with his team selection. If we show the same fight going forward give him the job.
Would be more than happy with him. The worrying thing is what are the differences which made Martins decide not to come here?
Well, that is a bit of a bombshell and no mistake, it just goes to show nothing is given until pen is put to paper.
Yep, you wouldn't touch him any more I'd give it a week and if Pedro has got the job see what can be agreed. I can't blame him for waiting for that job, they're an established PL side.
Never heard of him to top, top manager who worked miracles at lowly Portuguese sides then established himself with panache at an established European club side to what a **** in three easy steps. Ho hum. Onwards and upwards.
Sad news about Martins, he was the first name that genuinely got me excited for our future, given his previous record of shaping the smaller clubs , but there are obviously stumbling blocks, I read he wasn't impressed with our training facilities (don't blame him tbh) I wonder if he demanded a better training facility sooner rather then later, or perhaps its just down to the size of the cheque. Only 2 blokes know for certain, and it aint any of us. Fi gers crossed we'll get the right fit, TWT
When you think you have got someone in then lose him it’s obviously a disappointment, however if you can’t agree you have a choice of giving in or moving on. Who says he would have done a good job? He had a good reputation and might well have done so but no guarantees, it’s a gamble who ever you get in so let’s wait, we got our first win for a while under Dawson so let’s see how we go on Sunday. The more wins he gets the better for him and us, he’s then either offered the job or buys time for bringing someone else in. There is still a few good candidates out there though so it’s a case of being patient and wait and see.
