Was there and saw him running onto the field and punching his own player. Couldn't understand it at the time but it turned out that it wasn't football related but a personal issue.

Good news, though he's been screwed by his lawyer...I'd have pleaded insanity - no way anyone with any ounce of sense could think it a good idea to run onto the pitch (which is being filmed and beamed around the world) and punch someone to the floor!

  7. Although i'm glad he was punished, you can't really judge someone if it's a personal issue like he slept with his girlfriend.
You might not understand the emotional effect it could have on you. I've seen how it can effect someone, and it's not pretty.

He deserves to go to jail, but i'm not saying that i'd not punch the guy that slept with the girl i loved. I don't know coz i've never had a girlfriend, but that's why i won't judge him.

But what if the player punched was Gary Neville?
Would he have been rewarded for his community service?

    Only took 5 minutes.

idiots punch people every night all across the country in bar fights and get away with it.. im not condoning his behaviour but i think he's been stitched up because of the circumstances, i think 12 weeks in jail is harsh as it was a personal issue and he was probably caught up in the wreck-less nature of the surroundings. I dont think he poses a danger to the public and as a tax payer, i am a little annoyed that i have to pay for the little twat to goto jail for 12 weeks, why not give him a heavy fine?

<sorry> If you had put, "I don't know coz i've never loved a girlfriend, but that's why i won't judge him", I wouldn't have said anything.

    I completely agree.

There are thousands of completely innocent people out there who are attacked in an unprovoked manner. The attackers get let off with a night in the cells and a fine.

This knobhead punches a guy in the face due to a personal issue and receives THREE MONTHS which we, as taxpayers, will have to pay for.
