How the **** did we manage to let Stoke score 3 times against us they look a shambles, jus goes to show how badly we’ve got
As I said to a gobby young Leeds fan in my local in a rather heated exchange, if you had supported your local teams like me and my lads you would have seen both of them, Hull City and Brid Town win at Wembley. My lads haven’t seen Leeds do that as the oldest is only 42.
I aren't going to get into an argument NT. I happen to think it is the way the Premier league is going. It won't be too long before they ditch relegation and they turn it into a franchise.
I wasn't trying to argue the point English managers/coaches are just as good (not sure they are tbh). It was more it appears to me none or very few have been offered the opportunity. Personally I have found Man City pretty boring to watch but that's just me. They seem to be doing quite well today. Back to the golf for me.
I honestly can't see football going down the "closed shop" route. If it ever did, it would alienate hundreds of thousands of fans by killing off their hopes, dreams and ambitions all at once. There would always be so called big clubs who would feel they had a right to be in the elite 20 or however many teams, while at the same time, these so-called big clubs would claim the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth should not be in the elite group despite those clubs having earned their place at the top table. And what about the likes of ourselves, Swansea, MIddlesborough, Norwich etc who have had a taste of top- flight football and who have ambitions to get back there one day? Are our dreams to be limited by a self-imposed glass ceiling?
I've been to Side - used to have a walk to the harbour and buy the tastiest, freshest squid cooked by an old boy on a barbecue made from an old oil barrel, bootiful stuff. Enjoyed Side, only bad thing was the trek from Antalya Airport to get there.
Have to say lots of the old restaurants, either side of the harbour and Athenas temple have gone, they've reclaimed the land and excavating ruins, which many of them were built on top of, very different look these days. Speaking to the locals seems the government are going to excavate what they can then put glass floors over the ruins, and then build were they can above to incorporate the history. Probably gonna take a few years but I barely recognised it from last time I came 6 or 7 years ago.
