We didn’t deserve to stay up. Appreciate injuries and test calls have taken there toll, but too many below par performances left us relying on other teams to secure our place in div 1. Not sure the new management are up to the job, but this is a chance to rebuild (like City did in div1) and start again.

I’m really gutted but what a thrilling end of season. There is so much wrong with the county championship, but still has the ability to thrill and too many games is certainly not one of the problems.
Yorkshire has had a really poor season, though not surprising as they have pretty much had to play young lads, from their second team all season.

There are probably a few reasons why Yorkshire haven't had a good season. I think generally there will still be a bit of aftermath of the racism saga still within the club. Losing for the most part Root, Bairstow and now Brooks must have an impact. I just feel there is not a cohesive feel about Yorkshire at present.
Add Malan, Willey, Ballance, Fisher, Coad too for various reasons. Having said that, a lot of these absences were predictable (and financed by ECB), so no excuse for not having strong replacements. Their recruitment of overseas players has been absolutely appalling. Maybe these are a direct result of having to cost save due to commercial withdrawals/ funding the compensation packages.
On reflection, the domestic game is an absolute farce. It has always been odd that you are penalised for producing England players, but nowadays there are so many different formats. The ECB calendar planning is a total joke too,
At least we have City to cheer us up
