sorry to display my lack of knowledge here. but who picks up the tab for wages etc... if god forbid he were out for any length of time, club or countries insurance also for medical bills etc,
 
Good question wings. I would like to think that the various international bodies would have to carry insurance to protect their players against injuries that would affect their employers (i.e. Bristol City). Someone on here will have the right info.

he gets paid for being in squad/ games ... insurance? ...no idea

I asked this when Wells and Palmer were injured for so long. I can’t believe that the club would not be insured.

You could check the last accounts and see what the insurance might be if it is listed
I think they get insurance for a player who is made to give up on medical grounds .........
