Genuinely worried about Tiote & Enrique in the summer. I remember an interview not so long ago Pardew was talking about being in a good financial position in 2 or 3 years, which says to me that we may be a selling club until then. May be looking at it the wrong way but with Jose's comments today it's starting to get a bit worrying.
I think Tiote will stay. Not to sure about Joseee tho I just hope the Mail are talking there usual **** again :/
Well Jose is a luxury player at best, we should cash in as we've got Perch ready to step up. <whoamikiddingsmiley>
Enrique and Tiote have shown their class this season, and big clubs have been watching them. It wont surprise if they are sold in the summer. Ashley has no ambition for the club and will only invest the minimum amount.
My commentings today is good things. I will stay but for Barcelona I going. Do not worry I happy for Newcastle! =)
I dont like these articles, we make loads of them, it's like we're just expecting it to happen and waiting, depressed, for Ashley's next move. If the clubs after them have any sense they'll wait to make sure they can do it at the top level over more than a season, hopefully ending up with someone expensive from abroad with a bigger reputation. For example if they want a left back, they think Fabio Coentrao rather than Jose Enrique, because he'll be cheaper and younger and they get to say they "discovered him" and everyone praises what a good eye for signings the manager has. That's what I'm hoping for anyway
Theres no point in losing sleep over this. I am resigned to losing Jose in the summer, and if not Tiote, then in the next January window, or the summer after that. Selling players is now a fact of life, no matter who you are. Only city and Chelsea can afford to not sell a player if the right offer comes in. There will always be someone to replace them. The world is full of very talented, young footballers waiting to be discovered. I am sure we will be getting plenty of money in the summer, I really am. Why would we not get the money? Progress is a slow process and thinking we can come up from the championship and make massive signings, get straight into Europe whilst holding onto all of our best players is silly really! Theres a part of me that thinks we should get into Europe, and then maybe that will tempt Jose and Tiote to stay, and Barton to commit himself to us - but theres another part of me that feels we are not ready. If we got into Europe and Tiote and Jose left in the last few days of the window, and we hadn't replaced them, we would be in big big trouble! We might well lose players in the summer, and we just have to live with it. I am very confident that we will see some serious doe come this summer, and we will be looking quite a force come next season
^ Exactly, if players leave then so be it. They don't owe us anything at the end of the day as proved with judas. No player is bigger than this club and we will bounce back.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It's win-win for us if they leave or if they choose to stay- as we'd get very good money for them both...providing the money is re-invested into the squad that is!
