He was very good, consistent with it. Played in an FA cup final for the Mackems the season a after leaving. He had to regretfully pull out of Gareth Roberts testimonial at BP as his services were required in Wembley.

First time I saw Barmby play that night, Only game I ever watched from the posh stand seats (though saw a few from the well). We were encouraged onto the pitch that night also.

Roy Carroll anyone ?
Although he was very young he was exceptional - we used to refer to him as "the next Peter Schmeichel" and weren't too far off the mark I suppose.

Not really bothered about what other teams fans do or don't do

I hate the term scapegoat, it always comes out whenever fans criticize a player or players.
its almost like you cant not rate a player or don't think he is good enough as just get accused of needing a scapegoat.
and to be fair, if a team is doing **** and near bottom of the league, then it probably does need a scapegoat or several scapegoats as its nearly always somebodies fault, whether that be a chairman/manager/players, if things aren't going well then some people aren't doing their job correctly and if that makes them a scapegoat, then so be it i guess.
(not talking about us now, but just in general )

I'd bring Baxter in tomorrow. Ingram had a decent start to the season and has made some terrific saves, but he has been responsible for 2 of the goals we have conceded in the last 2 games. The one V Stoke was particularly disappointing for me - where was he going? If a keeper comes that far out, he's got to get the ball.
Also, it seemed to me last season that the defence was more comfortable with Baxter behind them

Ingram is a decent shot-stopper and his saves have decided games this season but Baxter in general just has more presence and commands his box better.

While we are still facing so many shots still, would you not want the better shot stopper in goal?

I think it's a bit of a myth that Baxter commands his box better as well. His distribution is much better but you have to expect that coming up through the age groups at Chelsea and how they are set up as a club to play.

I have a feeling we might see Baxter though tomorrow and hopefully he's the answer everyone seems to think he his.....but let's not all jump down on Ingram if he is, because as you say Ingrams performances this season have won us points and if you take a look at our MOTM threads he's been in a fair few of them.

I sorta agree with you. I think Baxter is the better keeper overall but not by much. It’s very fine margins. Dropping Ingram tomorrow wouldn’t surprise me. I’m not sure it would be the correct decision but Shota’s paid to make those decisions. Ingram’s flap against Stoke and slow reflexes for the daisy-cutter against Sheffield Utd suggests a lack of confidence imo, rather than a lack of ability. Taking him out of the firing-line might be good for him.

Its a ****s question. Both are championship no1s.

We're actually.in a good position on the goalkeeper front.

Just a sh!thouse manufacturing an issue for ego purposes. Change it or don't -
It won't be the difference between a good or bad performance. That's down to the 10 blokes in front.

Has anyone got the goals against stats while each keeper were playing for us. Ingram seems to do well but still lets two goals a game in. I do think its how well his defence plays in front of him. He's not made that many mistakes. Baxter maybe organises and talks better

I have but out of respect to both of them I can’t let you have them

We will soon know how shota thinks we can stop the goals going in. Does he think its the midfield, defence or the goalie. One thing is certain, we have to improve
