Spot on, my old mate. The last time I looked going to a football match was a choice, not an obligation. Have we become the Catholic church overnight. and suddenly we are sinners if we aren't there. I WAS there and I will be at Coventry on Saturday and and and ... but I'm lucky. I can afford it, and these days it's one of my great pleasures (even with travelling, as in any case I get to see old friends and family). But this "plastic fan" stuff does my head in. I met a lad from Wrexham recently with a Saints badge in his car. He'd never been to SMS (looking at his car I doubt it would have made it!) and only got to see Saints if they were playing a North West team, but he knew his Saints history and clearly loved the club. So tell me what is improper about this fan?
I am an elderly man, I have dodgy knees, I live on a pittance of a pension, I shouldn't go out on winter nights as if I catch a chill it could be my undoing, but because Marcus shelled out millions, Nicola gave up his banking career, Fonte stepped down a league all because they saw that OUR CLUB was something special. Because of all of that I got off my arse and went to the game and I will be at the next and the next. I know some people will have genuine reasons for not going and that is understood but some people had no excuse at all and they will be the ones saying Cortese should spend millions on this player and on that player while they won’t dip into their pocket to see a game. I call it hypocrisy. And I don't care if I rattle a few cages and upset some of you. If it is your club you should make the effort unless of course you really don't care.
They let you in with the elite did they......They must be hard up lowering the standards like that.....hope you were not in my seat.......you didn't use my bucket did you?
We shouldn't have to give a reason why we didn't attend, itis up to us. Most ppl have other things that we have to do before shelling out for a football game. That do's not make us any less off a fan or care about the team any less. Just because your able to attended game after game do's not meen you can put others down. If ppl choose to support our team by just going to the odd game, then listening to the others on radio etc itis their right. As for comparing a football team spending cash to a person shelling out hard earned cash that's just a joke. Do not put others down just because you can go to nearly or all the games, it do's not make us any less of a fan then you.
Well I think St Goodness must have an almost full keep net now. Yes, my mate bought the tickets. It seems that it's a bit cheaper to watch from the Chapel stand, this presumably due to the square pitch and insanitary conditions.....or maybe I was in your seat. Does your seat have grab-rails and a red string hanging down in front of it?
St Goodness. It really is time to put down the spade and stand away from the hole. You and I are both very lucky to have the time and money to get to games. I am still like a kid when I go to a game, and so life gets very exciting at the moment, and at my age that could be dangerous. However, we should never criticise fellow Saints who cannot get to games. I am sure there are hundreds out there who would love to be in our position. They're not. They've got school, college, university, jobs (if they're lucky) or job hunting (if they're not). They've got young kids, huge mortgages, absurd rents and pay freezes. I love meeting fellow Saints at matches, in pubs, on trains etc etc, and I don't give a monkey's whether they are season ticket holders, once a year attendees or have never been to a game. They all love Saints FC. Stop slagging people off, and get yourself a nice cup of cocoa which is what we have to do at our age.
If I attend I sing my heart out and can feel every kick, tackle, goal or heartache... if I don't attend I do exactly the same listening to saints player ( which you pay for thus aiding the club ) I don't care about peoples views everyone might or might not have a valid reason for not being able to attend. I support my club 100% in every way I can and I don't even live in the city. There's your reason poke it if you do not like.
Yep it is a pretty high horse too! Your little boy goes for free if you pay what amounts to the price of four packets of ***s.
Good for you son. Keep going as we need all the loyal fans we can get who will put themselves out to support the club.
Come on Jen get your life organised that is not what you pay unless you decide to go at the last minute.
One of the skills you will need working in law is the ability to manage an enormous workload. You had better start by getting better organised now. Don't tell me I don't know what I am talking about as my nephew is a Barrister and his wife is a practicing Solicitor.
Its got nothing to do with the nosey old prick what peoples reasons are for not going, dont tell him f**k all.
Read your own signature mate. You clearly don't believe in making sacrifices to support the Saints and that makes you a hypocrite.
Yes that is the one did you use my bucket? If you did ...did you empty it and clean it out afterwards?
Dave Merrington probably enjoyed your singing. Unfortunately our players never heard a word or note of it just when they were in desperate need of your support.
Myself and my two sons go to probably three quaters of home games with travel parking and programme over a season adds up to a pretty penny as they are still of an age where i pay for them. This has been i might add through bad times as well as the now good its not a case of i cant be arsed cause its the Posh it is more a case of Boro or posh we select our games to view pretty much in August and if we can afford to squeeze the odd extra game in we do depending on finances at the time. Add to that being self employed with my job i can lose time in poor weather no sick pay when ill i have to be sensible with budgeting generally bit like Cortese really.Wont be made feel guilty by any one for the games we dont attend as i do what i can and if i could afford i would go to every game and envy those who do if i am any less the fan for not attending tuesday then so be it
