I have to echo the thoughts of that bloke from the Ugly Inside. Yesterday's attendance was more than a little diappointing it was shaming.

It was a dry, mild evening and evening games have always been atmospheric and while times are hard they are not as hard as many expected and if an old codger like me on a meagre pension and with dodgy legs can get there then I don't undestand why others could not do the same.

We are top of the league, we are scoring great goals, we are playing good football, we have a good manager, some great players and our club is as solid as a rock financially.

If you didn't go then please tell us your feeble, whingeing, pathetic, inexcusable reason for staying away.

WHERE WERE YOU IF YOU DIDN'T GO

My "feeble, whingeing, pathetic, inexcusable reason" for not going was I was at an opening evening for a college, as I'm leaving school next year. Sorry if my whole future is more important that ONE game of football <ok>

My "feeble, whingeing, pathetic, inexcusable reason" is that I haven't received my student loan yet and can't afford the four trains I would have to take to get there and back, plus the rather expensive ticket. I'm also juggling three essays for my final year of a Law degree. I'm sure plenty of others have just as good reasons.

Living on benefits at the moment with debt's up to my eyeballs don't help, admittedly the debts is my fault but being unemployed isn't although I am fighting my boss to get my job back so with a bit of luck I'll be able to start going again soon!

Couldn't afford it because I had to pay over £400 in rent the same day (travel plus ticket = food shopping for like three weeks) and I have coursework for friday due in :)

Disagree really, with 2 games in 4 days I suspect quite a few people could only afford one or the other and M'bro was probably thought to be the more attactive especially on a Sat. Also don't forget Xmas is just round the corner

I was there though, not too surprising as am a ST holder

Peterborough at home on a slightly chilly, dark Novemeber night is hardly the most appealing game to some. I can understand why many didn't go, but yes the attendance was lower than one would expect.

It's better to have a growing support base as we climb the leagues, rather than the same supporters who were at the likes of the QPR home game in March 2009. If people want to stay at home, let them stay at home.

I was there, and very unusually amongst the nice folk in the Chapel. Odd. I had never realised that the St Mary's pitch was actually square, but there you go. I am fortunate in having the money to go without worrying about it, but before we get bogged down with whether more should have attended, how many other championship games had a higher turnout than us on Tuesday?

My feeble, whingeing, pathetic, inexcusable reason for staying away is that I'm at uni in Bristol and £28 for a train, £25ish for a ticket, I can't afford it.

Although i don't agree with how you have worded it,i do kind of agree with you.I understand that some people have genuine reasons not to turn up (like they do on this thread) but on the other hand there are people out there who don't go because it's just Peterborough or they can't be bothered because it's cold and dark, these kind of people get on my nerves, they probably went to the west ham game because it's a big game but feel they're too special to go to the smaller games.Think the players deserve bigger gates for how they have been playing this season. This is not directed at people with finance issues or those who live too far away or have work or whatever.

Peterborough's turnout was poor..that has an affect on the total, but I don't think anyone has to justify themselves. People go when they can and when they want.

I was listening to a talk from a soldier who was injured in an explosion in Afghanistan last year. He talked about the incident and his recovery through Headingley Court. It was quite an interesting perspective on what happens who don't come back in the same way that they went.
