"local" rivalry... ffs man 50 miles apart. It's like Newcastle to Carlisle.

I live next to Palace and I can get to Newcastle on less trains than the Amex

Not that i'm going to boo the minute silence, but the rest of it can do one.

Is this post ok mods? Deleted some of mine in RIP our Queen even though they weren't bad. Get a grip.

The minute silence is very risky. Someone is bound to be a disrespectful knob and silence doesn't lend itself to disguising it.

Should have just gone for applause instead, plus black armbands for the players and been done with it.

I doubt anyone will actually boo it, you just often get the noise from people still in the concourse unaware of what's happening etc.

Not that i care if people do boo it, each to their own.

But even that is why silence is a bad move, as it will be broken even by those unaware. It's one thing doing a minute silance say in a church, but not at a sporting event. There will always be some noise. Much safer to applaud instead and so MAKE noise. Then nobody can be offended and we can get on with the match.

It doesn't matter nobody gives a **** either way. The players especially who are mostly foreign and hate the English in most cases.

It's all fake isn't it

Keep it all out of sport if it was up to me, it's just people wanting to be seen to be being respectful, it's a "who looks like they are mourning the most" competition basically.

Load of rubbish.

She's dead anyway it's all silly.. Funerals the lot it's all daft. I say just post them off to be incinerated...they're gone.

Not really mate, I lost my mum 2 months ago and her funeral was a very special occasion, bringing together family and friends I hadn't seen in years, to all pay our last respects and to celebrate her life.

It was very emotional, but also a lovely day to see everyone again.

I kind of get what you're saying, but it's over simplistic. Most people want to say farewell - and funerals are an important part of that process.

I agree that all the public stuff can sometimes be overdone, but equally there are those who will want to respect our queen of the last 70 years.
