Mocking the sycophantic reaction to her death isn’t the same as mocking her death itself. I’m neither happy nor sad she’s dead but the ****e being posted on Facebook, Twitter, the BBC and in the queen’s death thread on here by grown men and women about an old lady they never met is cringeworthy, weird and ****ing embarrassing.
I'm not sure there was any need to postpone this weekend's games and the fact that rugby is still going ahead, makes the decision rather more odd. Still, from our point of view, we've got a lot of injured players who would have missed these games and some will now be back for them.
Don’t see anyone on here being sycophantic, just you and your mate telling everyone to “stop worshipping”. Read the room and you’ll understand that this is a massive moment for the country that has only ever known this one head of state, who exemplified everything that our current political leaders lack. Probably not a bad thing gives the new players more time to gel on the training ground we have looked disjointed in the last two games.

I too think cancelling things is the wrong choice. I think if she stood for anything it was surely to 'get on with it' when something bad happens. With regards to the anger over it, I just want to make sure, it wasn't her dying wish or that of the royal family to cancel stuff was it? Whether you agree with the monarchy or not, getting angry at it for something it never did is a bit odd.

I agree that it would have made more sense to cancel all sporting events as a mark of respect. The fact that some sports chose not to reflects badly on them IMHO. Some people need to get a sense of historical perspective - it’s football match for ****s sake.
But everyone is still going to work, you can go to the cinema, rugby, cricket everything but not football. No no that’s a step too far at this time of national mourning
To quote that great philosopher Alan Partridge; "You are entitled to your opinion, you're wrong but you are entitled to your opinion".
Spare a thought for whoever took the decision to cancel the games Absolutely no win situation for them.
